I don't talk to bugs either--well, okay, with the exception of an occasional ladybug that I'm letting out of the house. ;)
You smokin something? I see it says big talkers. ;)

You kiddin me? The WL groupees have their own room, certainly. It's a mix of Lodge Green and Royal Blue.

Slow day, huh?

DHB already knows this, but I'm the quiet one. DH is the talker, definetly. Oh, don't get me wrong, I will talk if you talk to me. But I don't jump in very much. Me and DHB's DH kind of sit by and watch all the action at family things.

I think everyone should answer this question, it's interesting.

Plus, I'm tired of being the only one asking questions. Doesn't anybody else have any questions?

Lewski I'm completely shocked. I can't imagine you being the quiet one. And I will be sending poor little Tye a pox present right away! Poor little baby playing with pieces of TP, it's enough to break my heart. His Auntie llebrekniT will get together a wonderful care package.::yes::

Have a good night guys! I have to get stuff ready for my orientation. And then it's off to the fund raiser. It's going to be kind of fun. Not the stuffy "suit" type that I usually have to go to. This one is hosted by Generation Harvest (of which Joe is the proud co-chair of), our junior board.

Have to go make nice-nice and chin wag with potential new donors.

Lest I forget to answer this, both Joe and I are pretty equal. We're very social and have no problem in social gatherings, introducing ourselves, chatting up a storm, whatever it takes. And God help the wall flower! I usually end up making a bee-line for him or her. It breaks my heart to see someone who is obviously incredibly painfully shy. I take them, chat with them, and start introducing them to other folks I know. No reason to be shy as far as I'm concerned.

RickinNYC, aren't you a sweetheart.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_5_27.gif' border=0></a> I wouldn't say I'm a wallflower. I was very shy when I was little. I don't like to speak in front of a crowd or group. In fact, I just about can't do it at all. Too much attention in my direction and I just about freak. My face gets red :o and I can't breathe<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_6_200.gif' border=0></a>. But I can chat away here on the DIS and I don't feel a thing.:D

I guess it may sound a little condescending when I said what I usually do at parties. But I meant it. You all know the type. Someone who is socially awkward, who really wants to break out and have fun, who wants to introduce him/herself and meet people. I find it upsetting whenever someone doesn't have the ability to do so when they so desparately want to. So I basically tell myself that this isn't going to happen as long as I'm in the room!

I understand it to a degree. I grew up as the "new kid" a lot as a result of being a military brat. I never let it overcome me though. So growing up, I never let it hold me back. I also was the type of kid that would befriend the "awkward" kids and make sure they left the party feeling like they were "popular" or at least able to mingle with the "popular" kids. I hated labels like that then and I hate them now.

As for speaking in front of groups, I do it all the time. The largest group I've ever spoken in front of was almost 500. The average size now is 30-50 folks. I admit I'm a tad anxious just before I have to do my schtick, but once I'm in front of everyone, that fear or discomfort melts away.

I'm not a spotlight hog by any means. This stuff just never really fazes me.

Anyway, I have to go! Orientation in t-minus 58 minutes!

okay Barb... you caught me in a typo..LOL:teeth:

and i do talk to bugs... you know the ones you are chasing down to get out of the house..." here buggy.. here buggy.. go outside where you belong..."

How is Dh's back??

Question: What is for dinner? When I get home from work, I will make sloppy joes, salad, some frozen veggie..prob corn.. and Girl scout cookies for dessert.. Thin Mints and the chocolate covered peanut butter ones..

Ok geffric, since you went into such wonderful detail on what's for dinner, I think we should all share. We had french dip sandwiches, very tasty, and a pasta salad I threw together with pesto tortellini, marinated artichokes, olives and zuchini. It was extremely yummy.

But, I don't have any dessert.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_9_4.gif' border=0></a> I'll take some of your yummy chocolate covered peanut butter Girl Scout<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/22/22_1_4.gif' border=0></a> cookies, if you don't mind. Did I ever tell you guys about my "100 boxes sold" Girl Scout badge?<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/22/22_1_4.gif' border=0></a> No? Hmm, well actually I just did and that's about it. Sold 100 boxes, got the badge, still have it.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_20_47.gif' border=0></a>

Maybe not a hog<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_3_152.gif' border=0></a>, but at least a little bit of a ham<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_12_12.gif' border=0></a>, right? Come on, be honest Ricky. ;)

Hi all, thanks for the PD. Have to hurry, but on the quick... I forced a meeting where I was told unequivocally he didn't want my job, and that all he did was sign the checks...ya da ya da ya. I can still supervise the maintenance, but he just wants to keep it under control. OK, so after the meeting I chided with him, "see, if you would have talked to me at first we wouldn't have had this misunderstanding. His answer was"and what part of I am in control do you not understand?"
(Jerk)

As far as the question goes, I am quite chatty about everything but work. when the subject of work comes up, I usually clam up, DW gets mad at me for shutting her down, etc. It is really better than telling her the details of my work (or what my families latest endeavors are either).

Gotta go...

:bounce:

Oh, and llebrekniT If you post your picture, I will make it smaller for you (and RRBB will put it in the Photo Album when she gets back from CKU...or I may sneak it in there...).

Have a Tagged Night!!!!!

OK, I am going to watch the Jim Ad for DCL tonight....

I will check back later...

:bounce:

Hi kids...checking in before I leave the office, so, no color.

lleberkniT, I'll answer your question. I'm both! I wake up chipper and ready to chat. I have no problem speaking in front of people (on the stage or in a meeting). I'm very quiet in a party situation if I don't know the majority of people, and won't approach strangers (RickNY would be having to 'pick' me off the wall). But if it's a group of people I know, I'll cut-up and put on a show. When I've met DISers the 'strangers' rule is out the window, and I'll talk your leg off (ask geffric!). But sometimes when I'm in a group of friends, I'll sit back and quietly take it all in....especially if there are other 'talkers' in the crowd.

Bichon Barb, I'm a big fan of Steve also! I have a soft spot for 'funny looking little guys'.

OH, BTW my April vacation will be Coronado Island/San Diego, but we threw in an extra night in Aneheim for an emergency visit to Disneyland! I can use the one day left on my WDW park hopper to get in, so no extra cash outlay! Six and a half weeks till the house of mouse!

One last thing....EVERYONE must get well! All your spouses/significant others/children must return to optimum health immediately. This is not an option, you must all comply!
...do you think that will work?

OK, must go seek out food now.

Sorry if I almost got the place boarded up because of my post :( Iam glad it was deleted if that is what needed to be done . I really ment no harm .

Ok I will sit over here and just lurk :wave2:
See I can play the quiet game .

Wishing all a Tagged night
Mishell

OK, I am not a wallflower and don't have issues talking in groups. Have to give presentations all the time and I really can go to town when I know something and I know it all, ask my DH. :p

When out and about though, I'm quite reserved, unless I get to the wine, then all bets are off. If we go way back though, you'd see a different side. It takes time to know my sarcasm and wit, although you people seem to pick it up pretty well.

I have issues with trusting people, I am quite the skeptic. A lot of my friends DO call me all knowing (but I tend to soak a lot in before I talk). While to some I come off as a prude, I really do know too much for my own good, once you get to know me you know I am not all full of it. I am very modest.

See my DH is a social <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_7_205.gif' border=0></a>, I practically have to yank him by the ear to get him to leave and shut his yap. He makes friends with EVERYONE. I have to tell him when someone is not being nice, cuz he's so naive too.

I HATE talking on the phone, always was more of a letter writer, so the internet is great for me. I excel in organization, details, documentation, rules and regs, supervising, reviewing, auditing those things. I love interviewing people, which I do quite often in my job. I have had to fire one person and while they totally deserved it, I felt bad. Anyhow, the HR manager where I worked asked if he could use my form letter for giving someone the axe. It was really good. Have I said enough. I think so.

Tye has pocks all over his baby body.......ewwwwwwwww. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_6_2.gif' border=0></a>

Well, since you ask, I'm kinda both, if that's possible. If I know you, or know what I'm talking about, I can be rather chatty. Just look at some of my postings on some of the planning boards....they should all come with a "LONG" warning label. However, if I don't know you and especially if I'm in a group situation where I don't know anyone, then I'm REALLY quiet. A party where I know noone is one of my most stressful situations! It completely wears me out, just having to function in that environment. If I find someone I have something in common with that will be a conversation starter, I will talk to them, but tend not to circulate, and if they're one of those "butterfly" types who floats effortlessly from group to group then I'm left by myself in no time. It's all made worse because I'm really bad with names...I have to "meet" someone 5-10 times before I can remember names to faces and relate that to what I know about a person!! Perhaps that's why I have so much trouble keeping up with all you here on the TAGLIARCHY!

RickinNYC
Personally, I'd find you a saving grace at a party, especially if you managed to introduce me to someone that wasn't going to float away in 2 minutes! I might be a little stressed at first for someone to come and "pick" me as someone else said, but I would get over it and be thankful!!

Dinner? Made a spicy concoction called Cowboy stew from one of those mix packets. It was pretty good, but a little too hot for the kids. But, they did love the MICKEY MOUSE CORNBREAD MUFFINS I served with it :) Just love that muffin pan....DD was so excited she got "Mickey Buns" as she called them :) She's just so cute sometimes princess:

Dessert was bavarian raspberry chocolate ice cream...raspberry is second only to peanut butter for best combinations with chocolate in my book, so it was a yummy evening!!

Night all!
Katie
