Get out of town! I am soooooo happy for him. And way to go to you too! It's difficult to stand back and let them do their own project when you know that so many others will be completed by people with degrees in that field. Daniel's is about what metals do/don't rust and whether salt water has an effect on the rusting process and whether they rust more quickly sitting in water vs. dipping them and pulling them out. His fair is Friday, I'm more nervous about the presentation board, he's working on it at school and some of the kids took theirs home to work on them. Oh well, I just really want this to be over with.

To answer both of you, thank you very, very much for your nice comments. I received a PM from a DIS'er that I don't even know that gave me a link to a "Photo of the Week" contest at a Disney-type site. I sent it in yesterday. Unfortunately, the Moderators did not like my picture as much. Did you see the GIANT notice to me in my siggie? They must have added it last night. They told me I was not with the guidelines, it was too big. Since I never have been able to "get" how to downsize a picture, I had to take it out. If only I knew someone, anyone who knew how to do these kinds of things.

Ohanafamily did you ever notice how people in office situations always seem to have issues with the people who do their jobs best? They obviously don't know what they are talking about and that's what ticks me off the most. Passing judgement on someone when you don't even know what you are talking about. I'd like to come over there right now and tell each and everyone of them how bad they suck!

Sorry for the rant. That kind of thing always makes me sooo mad. Hold your head high, don't let them get to you. They can only wish they were 1/2 the person you are. They have no souls. Do they have any idea how freely you give of yourself to help others? Have they never seen you take time out of your day to work on someone elses problem? This is why this world is getting harder and harder to live in. Too many hateful people. Come here and vent anytime you want.

Ella's up, way too early I might add. She had a really good night. Daniel was feeling better, but I didn't send him to school mainly because of how this virus keeps coming back with Ella. He needs a little more time to make sure it's gone. Don't want to spread any germs around the school you know.

That's a bummer about the picture. The only way I know how to resize a picture is to open it up in a different program and do it that way. I've never been able to figure out how to do it "on the fly" while posting (or even if you can, for that matter).

ohanafamily, [color=FF66CC]llebrekniT[/color] took the words right out of my mouth (well, fingers). I second everything she said. You are a wonderful person and obviously know what you're doing. I've worked with so many people who are just like the ones you described. I think they're the sames ones who used to pick on the kids in school who were good students or who didn't get in trouble, etc. It's just a way for them to try to make them feel better about themselves...and that's pretty sad. I hope you know how we all feel about you!!!

I have a question...reagarding the reprimand.....a couple of days before it happened I was going to post something suggesting that maybe we cool it with the double entendre (sp) but didn't because (a) I'm not the mom and (b) didn't want to make anyone mad at me. So my questions is, should I have? How would you have felt? I kind of think I'd rather hear it from one of you guys than a mod. I know sometimes we think of this tread as our "home" and therefor behave in a more casual mannor and might forget that we get visited by lots of people who don't post. Or we could remind each other with a code like RTAMP (remember there are minors present). What do you think?

Oh, [COLOR=FF66CC]llebrekniT[/COLOR] regarding your picture, I KNOW the people on the tech thread would be glad to help you size your pic in your siggie. If you guys get 'warnings' about the stuff in your siggie, just post over there, tell them what you'd like to accomplish with your photos/quotes etc and they will help you 'design' something within guidelines. LisaTX has helped me several times.

Good morning. Got little sleep last night and a very busy day today. BUT I did finally finish my skirt (aka costume) last night. It only took me forever to do the waistband. Today on the schedule of activities is 1) Dr. appt (in 45 min) 2) finish page layout for contest 3) get layout copied (they won't accept originals and it's a 12x12 so hard to find places that can do that size 4) pick up all last minute things to take 5) finish tags that I plan to trade with others 6) find charger for cell phone 7) pack 8) SLEEP!!! I leave for the airport tomorrow morning about 8:30am. I think I'm gonna go between now and then. I might have to do without the sleep.

I thought about saying something, too. (Although I realize I contributed a lot, at least to the start of the problem.) It's great when a teacher can see talent and effort and grade appropriately. I hate seeing those "I know that kid had lots of help" stuff that gets the awards while the child that has done his/her best completely without help gets squat.
Well, gotta go. I have to be at the school in 45 min. to read to my youngest's K class. I have a 6th grade mtg. later tonite and so much to do inbetween both.

Lewski709, I'm still waiting to hear back on the job that I had the second interview with. The waiting is driving me crazy!

If I do get the job, I don't mind keeping my eyes and ears open for you. I doubt there's much I could do in that particular area as there are only 3-4 people total in Benefits (the one I've applied for is a new position and I get the feeling the others aren't going anywhere anytime soon). But, that doesn't mean that something else wouldn't become available in HR or elsewhere in the company.

I hope something happens for you soon. I know exactly what you're going through and, if I end up not getting this job, I'll still be going through it with you.
