Just left PBH...the ISP was next to impossible in our room. I'm going to post a report on the Universal Resort Board.

Yesterday wasn't my day - doesn't look like today is either. My happy, dancing banana left town with no forwarding address.

Youngest DS still down w/broken foot & Mom (who lives w/me in her own MIL-apartment) found out she needs both knees & hips replaced-yikes!

Long haul ahead, lots of rehab I expect, postponing my cruise (boo-hoo). Still hope to get away in December (figure I'll need an escape by then) if one of my older DS's will babysit Mom.

Yeah, you gotta be strong. That is definately something that I have learned over the years. I tend to look at the brighter side of things too, it helps me get through the rough times.

I'm starting to wrap my feeble brain around this issue...contacted DCL & they're willing to work w/me. Said I can cancel & rebook up to 2 days prior to cruise for $85pp, surprised @ their accommodation. One bright spot today.

My Mom's tough & ornery as ever, today she announced she's not having surgery...talk about a roller coaster ride.

This board is a great place to hide.

keishashadow.........that sucks big time. i am soooooo sorry this is happening.....

if i had a chance to give you a tag, i would. that would make you smile and keep you strong until things work out for you.

if we lived closer, i would watch your mom to help out.
my mom had the knee replacement and she is doing so much better now.
but knees and hips, that is heavy duty surgery and recovery time.

keeping you in my thoughts.

Thanks to all, I feel like such a drama queen! Today, my Mom's scooting around the house like nothing's wrong with her...family doctor says it's up to her to decide whether to have surgery or explore other treatment options. Older sons are ready to monitor in our absence & Mom thinks we should go now while we still can.

My DH & I are the gambling sorts/eternal optimists...for now (hey I've got a week to make a final decision ) we've decided that we're probably going ahead w/Cruise. Of course, I'll probably have an ulcer by then.

Spoke to a supervisor @ DCL her suggestion was to: keep our booking, pay off the cruise & get trip insurance, even though they won't cover Mom's problems. She said they'll work with us if an unforseen event comes up between now & then.

Putting my trust in the mouse...gotta believe.

All my grandparents were immigrants, or to be more accurate - peasants from the Mother Land, didn't speak any English when they arrived. Wouldn't they be amazed @ the sight of an amusement park, let alone WDW & Universal?
