The Tag Fairy is very upset! =0(

The Tag Fairies contacted me tonite. They are very upset. They exist to bring joy and happiness and surprises to people. They can't do that any more. The Tag Fairy has decided to go back to what made people happy.

They are going to surprise people, the way it was in the begining and the way it was meant to be. What that means is that if you ask for a tag you can expect not to get it. If you start clapping threads, begging threads, email, pm, instant message or telegram anyone...you can expect not to be tagged.They ONLY way to be tagged is for the tag fairy to find you and surprise you.

Everyone should also realize that the TF doesn't tag based on how popular you are. Usually it's a split second decision because something caught their eye.

The Tag Fairies also asked me to say that they really hope everyone goes along with this. They really don't want to leave the Dis ... but they may have to.... unless they can go back to bringing joy to people....

I think it's like trying to explain pixie dust, and magic...or why pj's fresh from the clothesline always smell and feel so good, or why it feels so nice when someone says " I thought about you today, and I smiled."

A random act of kindness, something funny in a thread that a TagFairy visits, tags are a special reminder of something you said...something that makes the TagFairies chuckle....

....because when they laugh, a little bit of colourful pixie dust finds it's way to you...

We3LuvWDW - The thing the TF actually DOES is put the little sayings in color by your login id in the upper left hand corner of posts.

And to add to the above, the tags were originally placed when you did or said something memorable or funny. It was a surprise to you based on a post. Unfortunately, people started expecting tags as soon as they came to the boards and begging for tags. They would ask for certain phrases or it was no longer a surprise from the "tag fairy". Then, to compound matters, as the requests increased some posters would get upset and flame people for requesting tags and it would get ugly. Also, some would get upset with their tag. Thus what I believe started out in good fun and as a surprise for longtime posters and those who added personality to the boards became a believed right and expectation, and the fun was lost as the tags no longer meant anything. I was actually tagged via a request from a fellow disser who surprise requested tags for a few of us based on some fun Universal threads. I did not ask for them and was surprised and amused when i read them.

The Tag Fairy brightened by day by added 2 tags to my name. The 1st tag, I admit, I asked for but the 2nd one was a surprise and it was so nice. I think it's a great idea to go back to surprising people.

I think this is the way it should be! I will admit to asking for a little Tinkerbell tag...hence the little Tinkerbell tag I got! However, I do think it is best when you experience that Disney magic that the Tag Fairy bestows upon you randomly! I love reading tags and think that the TF is WONDERFUL for sharing his/her magic with us!

Thanks for the info. Now I feel like I'm in on some of the inside info.

I think the TF Surprise is a GREAT idea. This seems to show just how much magic is here on the DIS.
