The Sweetest Thing You Ever Heard...

Well, it's Non-Disney related... is that okay? Ironic that it was just said today, I decided I should post it! I had my DD 2 and DS 4 at our local library for storyhour today and my son came upstairs to where I was with DD2 telling me that he broke his keychain/toy - no biggie. He tossed the broken thing to me and started back down to "his class", then stopped in his tracks - ran back to DD2 and said "I love you Madison!" and they hugged eachother real quick before he trotted back downstairs and out of sight. My kids never missed a beat, but all the other Mom's all went "awwwww!".

Then later today - not sure if it's in the water or what! DD2 tells Ryan "I love you brudder (her pronounciation).... he says back " you're the best sister anyone could have".

I know sappy - but still warms a mama's heart when then are now fighting the background!

My DS was days away from turning 2 on our first visit to WDW. He absolutely adores the seven dwarfs. He still (at 4 1/2 yo) calls them his seven little men. I waited with my son in EPCOT near the Germany pavilion for Snow White and Dopey to appear. After what seemed like an eternity but was really about an hour, Snow White came out with Dopey on her arm. He was so overwhelmed he didn't speak the entire time. He met Snow White and Dopey, and I had them sign the autograph book and took pictures. The boy was awestruck! I told my DS it was someone else's turn and for the next few minutes he just stood there calling to Dopey, "I love you Dopey! I love you Dopey!" over and over again. I finally just picked him up and carried him away and he kept calling to Dopey. It's the reason my family returns as often as possible - while it's still real for them. Soon enough, my kids will want to spend all of their time at Universal on the latest, greatest, fastest, highest roller coaster. It was truly a magical moment that still brings tears to my eyes. I wish I was at that moment in time right now! :teleport:

What wonderful stories.....please pass the tissues!

Keep them coming. :wizard:

this is something i actually said when i was younger and my mom never lets me forget it. one nite tink couldnt fly bc of the weather. so the nite time we were at the MK for fireworks during the beginning of fantasy in the sky i closed my eyes reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally tight and told everyone around to start believe so tink can come. and she flew that nite. i turned and thanked everyone for believing. it's funny bc now that i'm 23 and when at the MK my mom and I look at the lil kids and say start believing for some tink magic!

When we returned from our trip in October my DD 3 and I were looking at pictures of our trip and she suddenly looked at me and said "Mommy - you make my wishes come true"

I started to cry and told her she made my wishes
come true too!

Sweetest part is when DH leaned over and said to me "I would pay a million dollars to hear her say that to me just one more time in her life. "

Now this one got me!! You know, it's true. When our children are happy, we feel it too.

We took my four year old niece to the Princess breakfast in Norway in December (her first Disney trip!) and as we were sitting at the table, you could tell she was just simply in awe of all the Princesses walking around, she couldn't take her eyes off them. She was sort of talking to herself saying "There's Belle" and "There's Mulan" when I heard her say "I feel like I'm in a dream." -- It still gets me a little teary eyed. What a truly magical trip it was with her! :goodvibes

I love this one! :cloud9:

Ill never forget this, but as a child I tended to strike up conversations with random people. One of the days we were then when I was about 7 a little girl about my age sat down next to me on one of the benches and we started talking while our parents stood in front of us taking pictures of Cinderella's Castle. She was all smiles and said something rather profound at the time. She turned to me and said:

"I'll let you in on a secret.... The one thing I wanted to do was make my mum and dad happy. They haven't smiled in awhile but I knew Mickey could help. And look! Their smiling again!"

In our short 5 minute conversation she went on to talk about how she had never been happier than she was while watching her parents smile right then. At the time I didn't get it. My parents later told me that she was a child with the "Make a Wish" program. That really got to me, realizing that a little child's last wish was to see her parents not crying over her being ill, but happy again. And to her, the easiest way to make them smile again was to take them Disney again as a part of her wish.

I never cry but I do when I think about that. Thats what Disney does for people. It brings them together and makes people smile. A lot of times we all lose sight of the little things that we love about our loved ones, but it took a little girl to teach me the importance of smiling in every day life. :earsboy:

On our first trip to Disney, is was also our DD (5) first airplane ride. She thought she was in Disney when we parked our car at the airport and rode the little tram into the airport. She said "Disney world is so exciting!" and my husband said, "if you think this is good, wait until you see the castle." The next am, we get picked to open MK, do all of that, and then are whisked by Mickey adn the mayor to our CRT so that we can make our PS--they actually talked to the people at the ressie desk and then we were escorted immediately upstairs in front of a bunch of folks. Mickey hugged my DD goodbye and we were left to wait for the princesses to come around. My DD started to cry these huge crocodile tears very quietly. We asked what was wrong--she just said "I am too happy for one day." And that's not the sweetest part. Sweetest part is when DH leaned over and said to me "I would pay a million dollars to hear her say that to me just one more time in her life. "

Nothing like starting a Saturday with tears in my eyes....

Great stories everyone.

THAT is why I am WDW Obsessed....

I remember me and my mom where standing watching the Wishes fireworks at Magic Kingdom. And my eyes just kind of fell on this boy in front of me, for some reason I just watched him for the longest time, his eyes getting bigger and bigger with every firework. Then he turned to his mom and asked, "Is Mickey doing all this?" I thought it was sooooo sweet!

I have long, brown hair that I always wear pulled back in a ponytail. Anyway, I was sitting in the castle in the big chair looking at a park map and I must have been holding it the way Belle holds her book because a little girl pointed to me and said "Mommy-look! It's Belle!"

Also, Last Feb. I was in line for BTMR and this little girl was in line behind us and she was soooo excited because she was finally tall enough to ride. She was probably about 7. She chatted with us the whole time about how excited she was. When we got to the platform we wound up in the front row of the front car right behind the engine. The girl was behind us and we decided to give her and her mom the front seat so she could have her first ride on BTMR from the very first seat and feel like she was the engineer driving the train. ;)
I have never seen any kid more excited over anything, ever. When we got off the train, she found us and said "That was better than I ever imagined!!!" :goodvibes OMG, it was just precious.

I have two to share. First, as I planned our trip last fall, DD6, wasn't as interested in the characters as she had been previously. It was more of a "take 'em or leave 'em" attitude. I was worried that once we were there, the characters wouldn't be "real" for her. Oh, ye of little faith... On our second day, we were rushing from Tomorrowland to exit the MK for our PS for the Cinderella Gala Fest at the GF. As we were speed walking by the hub, Cinderella's Surprise Celebration was in progress. My DD said, "I don't know why we're in such a hurry. Cinderella has to finish her show before she can come to the dinner anyway." Made my heart melt that it WAS still real.

On the same trip, my DS3, who adores Buzz and Woody, had to visit Buzz each time we exited the Space Ranger Spin ride. This was a lot! On our last morning, we went by to the MK for one last time. DS & I rode SRS while DD & DH went to Space Mtn. As we exited, Buzz was there all by himself. DS went to him & said, "I have to go home today. I'm gonna' miss you." Buzz just gave him a big hug. I was holding back tears.

Ahhh, the magic... Can't wait for my trip back next year.

You guys have me in tears! This is why I love Disne. There is nothing better than seeing that joy on your child's face.

Why doesn't everyone (like DH) get it? He has no desire to go again. I want to go all the time. I have two sons - 14 and 11. The 14yo doesn't like Disney either. The 11yo has Down Syndrome and LOVES Disney. Everything is real to him, but he also loves the "big" rides. I took him alone last November, and now hope to do it every year.

Last year, the sweetest moment was at PSB when he got 3 kisses and declared he was in love with each one and was never washing his face! Or when he begged Buzz to "rescue" him from having to go home.

While riding the bus to MK from ASMO last October we got to talking to another family. It was their first day ever going to any Disney park. It was our first trip to WDW but not our first day but we had been to Disneyland many, many times. He was asking us about fastpass, etc. and we were telling him some of our experiences. Then the castle came into view, and suddenly his little girl started screaming excitedly when she saw it. Then she looked at her daddy and mommy, tears running down her face and said "I love you for bringing me here"! They cried and so did I!

Sorry, I just remembered the absolute sweetest thing...your son with Down Syndrome reminded me...

We were watching the Sword in the Stone Ceremony in front of the Carosel at MK and the "king" they chose was a little boy with Downs. He was so happy, so excited. And when they gave him his certificate at the end he was so proud and happy you could just see the joy in his face. It was the most touching thing I ever saw, the whole ceremony with him. Everyone cheered for him and the older guy they picked played along too and you could just tell it was a wonderful time for him. I think I cried, and I didn't even know the kid!

I was sitting on the bus back to ASMo after leaving MK and a little boy about 5 years old was sitting beside me. He talked the entire way back to the hotel and showed me all the autographs in his book. I played along with him and told him how neat that was that he got to meet everybody and he looked at me so serious and told me "what I needed to do to meet the characters". He told me to go buy one of those little autograph books like his, go stand in line and I would get to meet Mickey too. He thought since I didn't have a book, I hadn't gotten to see anybody and looked at me like I was retarded for not knowing how to do that :earboy2: It was so precious!!

My nephew went to WDW when he was about four. When he came back and showed me all his autographs, his pointed to Mickey's autograph and exclaimed "That is from the REAL Micky Mouse!" ::MickeyMo
