The Sweetest Thing You Ever Heard...

My boyfriend and I were in MK and I was sitting on a bench waiting for him to come out of the restroom. There was a little girl (about 4) dressed as Cinderella talking to her mom. My boyfriend walked out and she stopped, pointed at him, and said, "Hey Mommy,THAT's Prince Charming." That was probably the sweetest thing I've ever heard.

We were waiting for the parade to come down Main St. There was the cutest little 5 year old girl standing next to us. She was so excited!! Finally when the first float approached she could hardly contain herself. When she saw Mickey on the float she screamed, "Mommy, mommy, I told you Mickey Mouse was real!!" I started crying -it was so sweet and precious, I'll never forget it.

Our daughter was 6 for her first trip to Disney. We were walking through Minnie's house and my daughter turned to me and said " Mommy, isn't it nice of Minnie to let us go through her house?" Everything was so real to her that trip... what a magical place!

We took my four year old niece to the Princess breakfast in Norway in December (her first Disney trip!) and as we were sitting at the table, you could tell she was just simply in awe of all the Princesses walking around, she couldn't take her eyes off them. She was sort of talking to herself saying "There's Belle" and "There's Mulan" when I heard her say "I feel like I'm in a dream." -- It still gets me a little teary eyed. What a truly magical trip it was with her!

When my son was 7 we done the Spiderman ride at IOA and as we came out and into the shop, Spidey was on the counter in typical Spidey pose. As my son got near, Spidey talked to him. Now I had worried before the holiday that DS would be more cynical and less receptive to the magic as he was getting older. I was dreading hearing "that's not a mouse, its just a person dressed up" - you know the kind of thing!

As we got outside the shop, DS said "you know that was the real Spiderman don't you Mum?". I asked him how he knew and he said "he talks just like he does on the television". He was referring, of course, to the American accent!

Last year when we took dd to Disney, she was 3 and we went to CM for our last night. Both Mickey and Minnie came to our table at the same time just as we were getting ready to leave.

Dd told them she was really going to miss them and asked how they could make her so happy. They sort-of mimed back that she made them happy too! It was really cute. She gave them one more hug and again said that she was going to miss them as she had one tear trickle down her face. It was so sweet.

That's funny!

I took DD,3 3/4 to Disney on Ice Beauty and the Beast last week.(Thanks to the MCD code and the people who posted it) But i made the mistake of telling her it was a play with people dressing up. She was pretty upset at the dressing up part and didn't want to go.
But we did go and she was so excited as soon as we got to the Worcester Centrum. My money got excited too. It was just jumping out of my wallet to be spent on Twinkling Minnie ears, magic wand, pictures with Chip.
Anyway she said it was real and at the end she took my face in her hands and kissed me. A really nice morning.

This wasn't what I heard, but the sweetest thing that my fiance and my DS5 did for me was on the airplane trip back. DS handed me a thank you card that they had secretly bought at the scrapbook store in Downtown Disney. DS gave me a big hug and told me thank you for taking him to Disney World and that I was the "sweetest mommy" in the world.

In the second night, last week, of our trip to WDW All-Star Movies with my family, someone, we dont know, leave a little paper in the television, It says ' It looks you are having a lot of fun!' , We were in a dream.

I miss the magic!

Also, not something I heard but saw on the Disney Wonder about a month ago. On our sailing were a group of 'special' young adults. Some with Down's, some CP and other disabilities. They were having such a great time. Anyway, the last evening me and DH were sitting adjacent to the atrium at Guest Services, near where they take all the formal pics. It was late and CM's were putting props away, etc. There was a young lady with Down's in a lovely ice blue gown and a tiara, hair done and makeup. She was alone and seemed to be waiting for some of her pals. She happened to catch her reflection in one of the giant portholes. She stopped and then slowly practiced her curtsy in the reflection. I thought I was going to bawl!!! It was very sweet and still brings a tear to my eye. I don't know if she will remember her magical moment, but she sure made it one of mine.

In 1996 my oldest son was 12. We went to DisneyLand in CA. We stayed at a little old 60's style motel right on the edge of the parking lot.. we walked into the park every day...

The first night we were there we checked into our motel and were laughing at how it hadn't changed since the 1960's. It was one of those that you drove into a center courtyard and parked right in front of your room.. the pool was small but SO cute with palm trees. Anyway we got our things into the room and started hearing BOOMS.... we walked outside and realized that if we went over to the office we could see the fireworks... The manager was outside in a folding chair watching them... we watched and enjoyed the fireworks.. When it was over my son looked at me and said... "Just think of all the families that have felt the magic here".... I realized he was growing up and it seemed like such a "deep thought" for a 12 year old... The manager grinned and said - you know kid ... you really get it!

On our first trip to Disney, is was also our DD (5) first airplane ride. She thought she was in Disney when we parked our car at the airport and rode the little tram into the airport. She said "Disney world is so exciting!" and my husband said, "if you think this is good, wait until you see the castle." The next am, we get picked to open MK, do all of that, and then are whisked by Mickey adn the mayor to our CRT so that we can make our PS--they actually talked to the people at the ressie desk and then we were escorted immediately upstairs in front of a bunch of folks. Mickey hugged my DD goodbye and we were left to wait for the princesses to come around. My DD started to cry these huge crocodile tears very quietly. We asked what was wrong--she just said "I am too happy for one day." And that's not the sweetest part. Sweetest part is when DH leaned over and said to me "I would pay a million dollars to hear her say that to me just one more time in her life. "

DD was 3 when we took her on her first WDW trip. We had a PS for the Cinderella breakfast. DD was in awe of the castle, even from the beginning of Main St. As we climbed the stairs inside the castle to get to the restaurant, she whispered, "This is so amazing!" I don't know if she was talking to us or just to herself, but I'll never forget it!

A couple of years ago ds,8 at the time and myself were walking through DTD in the middle of the day so we were pretty much alone at the time, he suddenly asked THE question about Mickey and his pals being real. Not wanting to lie to him, but not wanting to admit the truth either (more for me, I think than him) I asked him what he thought. "Mickey has to be real because of all of the love and magic I feel in my heart whenever we are here," was his reply and more than enough to convince me that he's right.

Last May my DD was 3 and as we walked through Minnie's house, she was yelling, "hello, Minnie, are you here, it's me Riley" Very cute

Same trip, my 7 year old, kinda skeptical of the whole character thing spotted Buzz from the TTA. We got off and ran over to the meet and greet. As we got closer, my son grabbed my hand and said, "Mom, this is the REAL Buzz Lightyear!' and proceeded to kind of shake from excitement while waiting for his turn. He made my heart melt and was happy to be given a little more time of childhood innocence.
