The Sweet Meet - Dis'ers do Hershey

:cool1::banana::yay::woohoo::dance3::cool2:

Great dinner at Fuddrucker's!
I enjoyed the Elk burger.....different.
Tailgate party in the parking lot with a vast choice of beverages went well. :thumbsup2

Talked to another guest at the hotel just before going in while having a smoke.
He asked about us, so I told him.
He laughed pretty hard.
His wife thought we were a church group get together.....:lmao:
He said "No...I'm sure I saw beer bottles in their hands"......:rotfl2:
She replied "Why would they be out in the parking lot?"
"I don't know.....but I'm sure I saw beer bottles."

Guess what....they are planning a Disney trip!

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

So the next half hour was spent discussing the DIS over a beer and a few more smokes.

I think we have another convert....:teacher:

A church group :rotfl2: :rotfl2: yea that's it :rotfl2:

Can't wait to hear everything about the trip. Wish we were there.

This story gave me and Greg a good laugh this morning!!! "Why would they be in the parking lot?" Love it!!!! :disrocks:
Have fun everyone!!!

Been here about an hour and half now. Feeinhight - done. Storm runner - done. Lighting racer - done. Crowds are not as bad as I thought they would be.

And, after 12, the crowds appeared. Good thing most of the big stuff is out of the way.

LOCK AND LOAD!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2:

FINALLY home after a LONG day... some fun drinking (complete with holier-than-thou hotel patron complaining to the front desk about the "unruly people who shouldn't be drinking in the parking lot" and who threatened to call the cops).... As well as a little bit of fun drama due to a case of my being a ******* and leaving my lights on when I parked the car this morning. **Headsmack**

Guess that's what happens when I don't have my :coffee: and am up before the crack of noon on a weekend.

Anyways, It was great meeting everybody that I got the chance to meet. :teeth:

Oh... and oddest quote of the day... Before Rope Drop, hearing someone go up to one of the employees and say "This place is better than Disney World!" I seriously had to do a doubletake and keep from asking if he was crazy.

I miss all the fun. Guess I left too early.

On the way home. Glad the weather held out for us yesterday. Sorry I missed the drama in the parki ng lot. We were just too tired. It was great to met new Disney friends. Thanks to dctootall, wimpy, and disneyfaninpa for making the day go so smoothly. I don't think my family would have done so much otherwise. And it was great to see mymuse again

Anytime. If any of y'all are in the area, give us a buzz.

But the big question is, did anyone get any cookies? :)

OH NO! I forgot the cookies!

Guess I have to go back in September to get some. *wink*

Just wanted to say that Val, Connor & I throughly enjoyed the weekend. Hershey park was interesting and we did have fun. But...

In the process we discovered that we are Disney Snobs and are seriously thinking of having t-shirts made. Just looking for the appropriate graphic.

We often found ourselves commenting (or just thinking to ourself) about how this would never happen at Disney, or Disney would have done x differently. And don't get me started about a park without a hub and spoke arrangement. :rolleyes1

Really, this was a great trip. Just seeing all our DIS friends again would have made it so. But add to it a bunch of new experiences and it made the 7+ hour drive (each way) entirely worth it.

Looking forward to seeing everybody in December - if not sooner.

I found myself thinking the same thing at Storyland in NH last week...couldn't quite figure out how to get from one area to another in some cases, and I'd see signs for things pointing in another direction when I had just passed it from another way...

Dodie and I made it back to my house a few hours ago. What a great weekend. It was wonderful to see old friends and new friends. We had an absolute blast! It was just what I needed.

Jeff, we had the same conversation driving home today. Yes, I am a Disney snob. Don't get me wrong I liked Hershey, but Disney is on a whole 'nother level. I know people complain about Disney's food prices. What I saw at Hershey was right in line with what WDW charges. Maybe a tad more expensive. Disney wrote the book on crowd control, movement of people and theme park layout. Lee Cockerell would be shocked to see the behavior of some of the Hershey employees.

Don't get em wrong, I enjoyed myself this weekend. It wasn't about the park though. It was getting together and spending some with great friends and people I truly love.

Hope everyone got home safe! See you in December if not sooner!!!

Deb-you can bunk with us anytime!!!!!

We had such a fun weekend with old friends and new. There's just something special about hanging out in a parking lot in PA on a warm summer night with a group of dis'ers, a bottle of strawberry zinfindel and the smell of chocolate in the air. :thumbsup2 I can't wait til December. :yay:

Hershey's problem isn't even just the lack of hub and spoke, It's the fact the park is almost like a "9" in it's layout. Even Universal's layout with the loop is better since you can still easily make your way around in a semi logical manner.
