The Sweet Meet - Dis'ers do Hershey

Well things are falling into place and my family and I will be able to attend this meet. I look forward to meeting everyone!!

A portable DVD player is your friend. My girls bring their DVD player, DS, ipod, and books. Mom plans snacks - usually something I don't bring into the house so it is special.

We also played "punch buggie' and other car games when we drove to Florida.

have not chimed in since page 4, i think, and have not read every post. as mentioned before i am local, well almost, about two hours away. almost thought i was going to make it but have to stay home with the dog. let me explain that, which includes why i am posting. dont know if somewhere in the last 50 pages if someone told ya'll that there is a Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato concert on saturday the 14th in the stadium, the stadium is butted right up against the park. just letting you know it will affect access and parking big time between 5 and 7 pm and will be a nightmare when it is over. now back to almost being able to join you......i was going to drive my wife and daughter to the concert and hang in the park for the night but they are now staying over nite and the dog cannot be alone for all that time. have fun and make sure to ride "GREAT BEAR".

I know we are late to the game on booking the hotel and free park tickets. By chance, does anyone have two (2) Jonas Brothers tickets?????? I casually mentioned they were in concert while we are at HP to DD7 and her eyes lit up. Tickets anywhere in the stadium will work. She just wants to be there. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Hi Jennifer. I have (4) Jonas tix. I have offered them to Don to use to purchase discounted park tickets. If he is not using them for the concert they might be available. I know others have concert tickets as well they are not using. Between us there should be two available for you.

A question for the parents. What do you bring for the kids on your roadtrips to keep them occupied?

We've taken numerous roadtrips with our kids. A must for us is the dvd player in the car. With the great invention of Red Box, you can rent one or two movies for the way down, drop them off at a local Red Box and then pick up a new one on your way home. I plan to do that next week. However, I've now used that as a last resort when they've read every book they can read, done numerous Mad Libs and we've played I Spy until we run out of things.

I got a HUGE Mad Libs book at Borders. Our kids love that we take turns going around the car filling in the spaces. Also, they are learning without knowing it!

Movies, games, books, stickers, food, drinks, stop about every 2-3 hrs. Each kids has a gameboy, dvd player, we have satellite TV and two screens in the minivan, we always bring new things (game, book, toy) and they each get a box to bring full of stuff from home. We road trip a lot !!

Actually, he will need the concert tickets on Saturday morning to get the discount for the park tickets. He can give you the concert tickets after he purchases the park tickets on Saturday morning.
