The Sweet Meet - Dis'ers do Hershey

So I just bought four tickets, one for Kim K too, because the total price for concert & park tickets is the same as I can get at AAA. Now I don't have to pre-buy the tickets and we can get them Friday when we are there for the preview.

Our concert tickets are Section 1. WAY WAY WAY WAY back in the grandstand. Bring your telescope. :rotfl2:

I'll be doing empty park. ::yes::

True, $10 seems a little low, but to a screaming Jonas Bros fan, getting in is all they want, one legged stool or not.
Even if you were to take a loss at $8 or $5, it is still a $35-38 park ticket instead of $43 (plus taxes of course) from AAA.
And personally, I/we are there for the park and the other DISers company, not for a concert.
If I lived close to Hershey, it may be a different story, but i doubt I will be back there anytime soon.
Up until concert time, it may be a little crowded, but after 5 or 6pm, things may be way better until the concert lets out, then watch out, screaming teenybopper city!

I agree - what's the worst that could happen? You're still ahead of the game even with an un-used ticket.

For us, I just couldn't disappoint my daughters - they love the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato and to be at the same place and same weekend as us, and I didn't take them to the concert, I would feel horrible.

I just feel bad that the park will be so crowded that weekend, I think that most people (except Alicia ;)) will be going to hang out with other DIS'ers and not focusing too much on the rides.

Just thought I would throw out a BIG thank you to Andrea for starting up this meet and going to all the trouble of securing the block of hotel rooms for us. :thumbsup2

Hotel rooms in the area may be very hard to get after this announcement.
I would suggest anyone who hasn't confirmed a room, do so soon. ::yes:: :teacher:

I understand totally, Andrea.
Kenny would like to go, Johnny on the other hand has no interest whatsoever.
When I mentioned to Kenny that the crowds would probably be thinner while everyone was in the concert, therefor shorter ride lines, he said, "RIDES!!!". :lmao:

Awww, thanks. It has been my pleasure, and something to look forward to before the PCC. I was thinking the same thing earlier about the hotel rooms!

Kenny is one smart kid!

I know it was mentioned earlier in the thread, but when is the final day for booking a room under the DIS block?
We booked ours so long ago it did not concern us, so I don't remember.
Just a heads up for anyone on the fence.

ETA...just talked to Andrea on FB and final day for the discounted rooms is July 13.

Hi Mark - the concert isn't a group thing, just a freakish coincidence. I couldn't in good conscience not take my girls to the concert. I woudn't subject anyone else to that torture, errr... entertainment.

I'm sure, as Jen says, the parks will be completley empty concert time as the throngs of crazy people are watching the Jonas Brothers, myself included.

Andrea, my daughter is off the wall excited!!! I just bought her the $10 tix too for her and I. DH and DS can go have fun with everyone on the rides. We can suffer together!! :rotfl:

Oh good, I wonder if the seats are anywhere near each other? I'm bringing binoculars :magnify:

We have unfortunately moved to the maybe list. With my brother being transferred to DC we might have to make a trip there instead.

I'll echo John and thank Andrea for stepping up with all the organization and foot work. It's greatly appreciated. :thumbsup2

Wanna see my seats for the Jonas Bros?

Definitely a yes on the binoculars!! Were in Section 1, Row P. I'll probably be able to see my car better than the stage! :lmao:

Let me also say thanks for all your hard work on this meet. It's very much appreciated. :thumbsup2

Good thinking George, but are the concert tickets a seperate ticket than the park entry ticket?
I'm sure those tickets would be worth more than $10 the day of for all those that missed this weekends sale.
Not condoning scalping tickets of course...:littleangel:

Just to let you know so you are aware: Hershey actually has a policy that if they catch you selling tickets on their property they will kick you out. So I would not advise trying to sell them on their property. Now if you want to put them up on ebay the night before or something that is different. Depending on the laws of your state of course.

PA law allows you to scalp tickets but you can not charge more than the face value of the ticket unless you are a licensed reseller. If you get caught doing this there is a $300 fine.

Just wanted to let you all know if you don't already that food is not permitted to be brought into the park unless you have a medical reason for it. In years past they did allow some food in but last year they made everyone without a medical reason throw it out or eat it before entering. They also will not permit you to bring in any cans of soda etc. Drinks in plastic containers are allowed.

Before last year cans used to be permitted in the park. I think they might have stopped it because of the new wave pool. Oddly enough they have recycle bins for cans all around the park still (at least they did last year). But I did not see any cans for sale only plastic bottles/paper cups.

You can go up to any counter service place and get a free cup of ice water as well.

Also if you have not checked into it yet they offer a meal plan that you can purchase. It is around 13.00 dollars and gives you a choice of places to eat as well as a refillable cup. Refills are 99 cents. You can find all the info on their website. If you are planning on eating in the park it can be a pretty good deal. Food here actually tends to be more expensive than Disney.

They also have picnic tables outside of the park. I know there are many tables by the stadium area that is somewhat shaded. Might work for you guys if you wanted to bring your own lunches and meet up there. Be sure to get your hand stamped before leaving the park or you will not be allowed back in. Showing your ticket stub is not good enough to get back in.

You can also visit zoo america for free when you enter from the hershey park entrance. If you have not done so already be sure to get your hand stamped so you can re-enter.

Buzz Kill!! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

But thanks for the heads up.

I'm with George on this, it guarantees you a cheap park ticket up until arrival, and I'd throw them away before being bothered with trying to sell them, or just give them away, much like we do with Fast Passes.
I know I talked about the $8-5 thing, but really, I wouldn't bother for the $20.

Have you heard what I spent at Mickey's of Glendale? :lmao::rotfl2:

How long did you work for Hershey?

KIDDING!! KIDDING!!

Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2

Just wanted to give you a heads up as every year we see people trying to do this. While not everyone gets caught security usually does show up.

You will see people doing this the most on the walkway leading from Chocolate World toward the park entrance but out of site of the ticket window etc.
