Hi Everyone,

I'm writing from the UK.

My family and I will be staying at the Disney Swan in Jan 2008 and I understand that it may be worthwhile joining the Hotel groups guest membership scheme that can be beneficial for potential room upgrades etc. If anyone has any details of how to register for this guest membership, I would be most grateful. Thankyou. :dance3:

Starpoints Redemption offers

  1. Since the Swan and Dolphin are part of the Starwood hotel chain, you may want to join the Starwood Preferred Guest program for free. This allows you to accumulate Starpoints that can be redeemed for hotel stays, hotel restaurant discounts, etc. Also, Preferred Guest members are more likely to get free upgrades at check-in.

Two great ways to get extra Starpoints faster:

Get a Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express, which allows you to earn one Starpoint for each eligible dollar spent -- a great way to build up your points painlessly. You can also earn up to 10,000 bonus Starpoints in your account in the first year, and the first year is also fee-free!

You can also transfer points to Starwood from American Express Membership Rewards.

Some of the Starpoints awards that are worth considering for stays at Swan and Dolphin:

50% Off Regular Rates awards allow you to redeem 1000 Starpoints and stay at the Swan or Dolphin for up to five consecutive nights for 50% off the rack rate. Thanks to Stacey D for info.
Free Nights with No Blackouts awards allow you to redeem 10,000 Starpoints per night for a free night at the Swan or Dolphin. Plus, redeem points for 4 nights and get the 5th night FREE!
Nights & Flights II awards allow you to redeem 70,000 Starwood points and receive 50,000 airline miles and 5 free nights in a Category 4 hotel. The Swan and Dolphin are Category 4 hotels and 50,000 airline miles is enough on most airlines for 2 roundtrip coach tickets in the continental US. Thanks to Dan B for info.

You can register on-line at spg.com and click on "join" in the far right upper corner of their home page. Be sure to have your new membership number noted on your Swan reservation. It is a beautiful resort- hope you have a magical stay!
