The purpose of any Fantasy League is to score as many points as you can! Not only individually, but working together as a TRIBE. We want to get up there in numbers on the leaderboard.

If you don't really care about scoring points and competing against others, why are you in the league?

Could just be me, however. I am VERY competitive in nature. VERY. I apologize if that side comes out now and then. I really don't mean to offend anyone or start a debate, but I am just a little bewildered...

I can understand watching the show and wanting it to be a "surprise," but I don't understand how knowing the teams gives you an unfair advantage. An advantage over whom??? ANYONE can watch these commercials and figure out the new teams. It's no secret.

I thought it was a competition but I was wrong. I don't want to think I did very good when I took the information from somebody but no one else did. I guess thats just the way I am when it comes to that...

You do raise a good point. My biggest problem was something like what Taz was saying. I really didn't want someone to just hand me this information. It feels like cheating to have it done that way. At least, it did until I read one of your points up there. I didn't think about the tribe as a whole, and you're absolutely right. I guess I need to know this stuff to help out the tribe as a whole.

I think it's also helpful to look at what Sorsha said about spoilers vs. speculation.

You guys tell me if I'm wrong. A spoiler is when you find some kind of inside information that gives away the events of that week's episode. Speculation is when you take information that is widely available and try to guess what will happen. With the new tribes we're talking about speculation. CBS has changed the colors of the buffs in previews digitally to throw off internet speculation before. What we are determining from the looking at the commercials could be very wrong (I don't think it is this time but it could be). Personally, as much as any of you want to talk through what you will think will happen in this week's episode go at it. I love that. Pink and I have been spending a couple hours a week talking about it before we make our picks.

If you find a web site that has inside info on who's going out on which episode. Keep that to yourself. Not only does it ruin it for the people who like to be surprised when they watch the show. It ruins it for the people who like to try to guess what will happen.

This is a weird game. You're competing individually but you are also competing as a team. It seems a little counterintuitive. I'm having fun chatting about Survivor with other fans. Some people are going to play it differently than others. Personally, I don't see what you are basing your picks on if you aren't trying to figure out the tribal swap. Then again, there is a huge element of luck in this game and sometimes that determines who is on top of the leaderboard.

Not this week though. Pink is going down and Kathy is going to help me do it!

I think that is correct. I've made changes as late as 7:45pm. Sometimes the Fantasy League site can get a little flakey around that time. I don't know if they are getting a lot of last minute traffic or what.
