The Super Exersice Thread.

Check on line on a site called cooking light. They even have desserts for your sweet tooth

Thanks Goofy_Mom! I looked at the site and they have some awesome recipes and ideas.... And I defintely have a giant sweet tooth ( part of the problem I think)! I liked that it had some alternative ideas on what to make for the holidays too.

Thanks Shellyf62 for the chicken idea. I always try to have some of those frozen veggie steamer bags on hand in the freezer to use as a side too. I love to cook but I am with you on the no-fuss dinners....atleast during the work week anyway.

I have to have no junk in the house at all.....I am a sweet tooth too!!!! If it isnt there, then I cant eat it.
Also dont forget to drink loads of water!!!
I also have chewing gum in my bag, so if I get a bit peckish I can chew, it seems to work well for me!

OK if there is a weekly check in,. we should start with a weight goal, i have a weight goal to hit..i am almost there but i can easly fall of the wagon..

Yes, that sounds great! How's the best way to do this? I am in the same boat...been "almost" there for months!:) Should we pick a certain day as "beginning of the week"?

You do what ever works for your schedule. If Wednesday works for your begining of the week, then so be it. You DO NOT have to post your weight if you're not comfortable with broadcasting a number that makes you cringe. If you're doing something that works for you, found a reciepe that everyone has to try, or need some incouragement at ANY TIME; come in and drop a line. If you have a question on how to execute a certain move (with or without weights) - ask. If you see some infomertial that sounds promising, let us know or ask if someone has/is doing it and find out how well it works/doesn't work.

If you are having awesome success, please share your story to help motivate others. Make sure you're being safe, I don't want anyone to twist anything, drink lots of water, and feed your body - starving yourself won't work.:thumbsup2

What is a plank? Is that anything like walking the plank? Because if it is, then I cannot do it either, because I don't know how to swim! I drown really well though.... but there is no money in it, unless there is a life insurance policy out on me...

Ok what I mean by a goal weight. Is you set a goal that you want to hit. Like whether it be 120lbs or 130 lbs.. But either way you set that “goal weight” and you just work toward it..

I did this when I was loosing weight, so I can’t really like join in cause I had a problem and am noW past my goal weight. But I use my goal for example… and btw you don’t need to post your goal weight, keeping it to yourself is good if you want!

Anyhow so this is an example:

4 months ago I was 155 lbs, I am 5 foot nothing, and 31 so 155 on me was not good. anyhow each week on a Saturday I would weight myself an track my progress as I went, like whether I gained a poud or lost one an… so each week I’d write down for that Saturday what the scale says. Well so in the beginning it started as one pound a week I was loosing, it was tough but I stuck to it, an you got to stick to it .

Anyow so long story short, that was 4 months ago and I kept track every week but only one day a week--saturday and i weigh in before i eat breakfast and drink my coffee. Consistency is the key!! And small portions of food and healthy, no jack in the box and wendy’s –that is not healthy! so back to what I was saying, it took me 4 months to loose 30 lbs! and I did it . and I stuck to it and worked hard at it… now it’s 5 months later I hit my goal weight which was 125 lbs, but I also lost 5 more pounds by accident last week so I am at 122 lbs.—but at least you guys get the point and can use this as an example!

Unless the Aussie's have their own deffinition (please correct me if I'm wrong) A plank is a palaties move. Lay down on your stomache, your elbows are on the ground and your forarms are in front of you. Lift your self off the ground onto your toes and elbows (it kinda looks like a push up only your on your elbows instead of your hands). Hold this position for one minute. Rest for 30 seconds and repeat move 2 more times. Keep your back straight when you do this, it should look like you're strapped to a 6 foot sticke or "plank".

Good for you:thumbsup2:yay:. I would suggest that you DON'T weight yourself everyday, once a week is fine. To me, its depressing to work so hard and see such little results on a daily weigh in. Also, let your pants be your guide. If they're getting looser, you're loosing inches. Even if the scale doesn't move, you're probably gaing muscle. The more muscle you have the more fat you burn even at rest and the better you look. Everything looks so smooth on tight body.

I have my mum who can measure my inches! I will do that maybe once a month?

I use the wii to track my weight and make weekly goals!

Thats going to be my guide too :lmao:

That is it Goofy Mom...we had to box for so long, then get on the floor & hold a plank for so long....it was so hard!!!
I broke my left wrist & elbow about 4 years ago, so I dont have a lot of strength in that arm, so I find those sorts of exercises very difficult

I have never broke a bone in my body (knock on wood) and it's hard for me to hold that for 1 minute. I did a 30 minute routine at home with resitance bands and plattes, low impact but I was sweating and my heart was beating.

Tink - once a month measurements would be ideal.

I am supposed to hold the plank for 3 mins when this challenge is finshed.
There is a set of things we have to do to work out our fitness age and the plank & pushups are my letdown.
My beginning age was 4 years older than actual chronological age, so hopefully once I finish the challenge it will be reduced!!!

Morning all
I just did a kick boxing class, then a circuit...so I am hot & sweaty, but feel very good.
having a shower, then off shopping.....have a good day everyone:hug:
