The Strangest Prayer & PD request you have ever heard

This sounds really strange, but tomorrow my DMom is having and MRI and we are really hoping the docs find a brain tumor.

Now before you think I have lost my marbles, let me explain. Her health has steadily declined the last year, she is a great deal of pain, gained a ton of unexplainable weight, blood pressure up and so on. She was finally able to see a neurologist who thinks she has Cushings Disease. This is a small benign tumor on the pituitary gland. It is a rare condition, but would account for all of her symptoms. The tumor itself is *relatively* easy to remove, the doc goes in thru the nose, she does not have to open the skull. Once the tumor is removed, improvement begins fairly soon.

My DMom is only 57 and when I saw her today at my StepAunt's memorial service (she died last week, not a good month for the family) she looked so old it made me want to cry. If the docs don't find the tumor, they will be at a loss and intend to send DM up to Mayo which scares the beegeezus out of her.

So please say a prayer or give a good thought to DM and hope they find a brain tumor!

Thanks for all the good wishes! Really, we are just hoping for a diagnosis and an action plan. DM has been declining and she is way too young!

Hope they can give you a diagnosis and a plan of action.
My dh works for Mayo. (No, he's not a doc so I don't have any medical advice. Sorry!) It's really a great place and they won't let her go until they DO have a diagnosis. That can be scary but at least you leave with an answer. Sometimes they go overboard. Like when I went in for seasonal allergies and they stuck a camera up my nose to make sure I didn't have polyps.
