This is a neat thread! Thought I'd add on..
1. All three of my children were due on the same day - August 30th.. None of them were born on that day.. One in August (the 25th) and two in September..
2. My DGD was the first girl born on her dad's side of the family in 85 years!
3. I'm lefthanded and years ago wanted to learn how to crochet.. Unfortunately, all the directions were for righthanded people, so I stayed up all night long and learned how to crochet with my right hand..
4. Back in 2000, I developed gas gangrene in my right hand.. (Freak accident with a brand new screwdriver and a puncture wound to the palm of my hand..) I had to have emergency surgery to save my life and they thought they were going to have to amputate my right hand.. The surgeon later used my experience as a case study for interns at a large medical center because gas gangrene is seen so infrequently nowadays..
5. My first baby weighed 8 lbs. and was born breach - without a C-section - after 48 hours of labor.. Can you say "OUCH" ???
C-sections were only used for life and death situations back in those days..
