4 - I named my oldest daughter after a Mortal Kombat character.
5 - I like the taste of raw hamburger meat :scared:

I love these things! Here's a couple:

This is a great thread! Let's see:

My father and I had the same third grade teacher: Mrs. Johnson at Ebenezer Avenue Elementary School.

I touched the Rosetta Stone.

My novel was longlisted for South Africa's Times fiction prize.

I once had a pet Eastern Rhinoceros Beetle.

Lobsters freak me out.

Once, I woke up in the middle of the night, saw that my digital watch no longer displayed the time and thought I was dead. No more sleeping with a watch on for me.

My late cat, Tibbles, loved to listen to Mozart.

Ok, I'll bite..

I hate white creamy stuff like cream cheese, ricotta cheese, mayo - but I love my aunt's potatoe salad.

Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorite movies.

I am a excellent "chair dancer"!! Mainly because the minute I stand up to dance my legs can't catch a beat to save my life. My DH calls it 'false advertising'. :cool1:

I have a freakish fear of deer. Everytime I think about it, I think they are going to beat the crap out of me. And yes, I do actively give notice to anyone that will listen about "deer awareness". :thumbsup2 Most people think I'm just being funny but I am dead serious!!! Yet, I have people tell me they were most cautious when they approached a deer on the side of the road.

Something similar...
I met my (ex)hubby here in Ga... while we were dating and I got to know his mom, we talked about where we grew up. Southern California. As we were going through old pics of hers...turns out we went to the same elementary school and had our class pic taken on the same stairs at Luther Burbank Elem in Long Beach.. over 2000 miles away from where we now lived :)

Thought that was kinda cool

These are really fun to read:thumbsup2

-I am a really lucky person. At various times, I have won a 8 day trip to WDW, a computer, front row tickets to Dave Matthews, a TV, a round trip flight anywhere in the continental US, $5,000 and $1,000 on scratch tickets, and several other small things. But I actually rarely enter contests or play the lottery- most of these are gifts (scratch tickets) or raffles for a good cause.

-My great-grandfather was great friends with Babe Ruth, but my great-grandmother hated him because he would come over and drink all the beer and pass out on the couch.

-Eggs freak me out.

-I have never seen a single Star Wars, Rocky, or Godfather movie.

-I had a nose job when I was 16 years old.

Ooh I like this game, count me in! :thumbsup2

2. The 4th toe on my right foot curves under my foot - and the women on my dad's side all have this.

QUOTE]

I have the same thing but it is both my "pinky" toes on both feet. My right slightly curves more than my left but it is both feet.

1. Moving to the Caribbean after college is either the best or worst decision of my life, I will find out once I leave.
2. I have a major obsession with WWII and wish I could go back in time and fight in it.
3. I have a very small family and have only been to a handful of weddings and never a funeral

Wow, you guys are an interesting bunch.

1) My only sister married my husband's only brother

2) I own several thousand books and still keep buying more

3) At night I have to have all the closet doors in my bedroom closed or I can't
sleep

4) My best friend and I made a time capsule when we were 10 and buried it in my backyard. We tried to find it 10 years later but it was gone:confused3

5) I love watching musicals, my favourite is 'Seven brides for seven brothers'.

Cheers :yay:

1. I read the encyclopedia for fun and have done since I was a child (I LOVE learning).

2. My mom's family is related to Jesse James.

3. I shook Jimmy Hoffa's hand when I was four and smeared chocolate on him. (Dad said he just laughed.)

4. I have a birthmark on my breast that looks, for all the world, just like a hickey! I'm sure some folks think I've been up to something kinky, lol.

5. I think green beans are yucky although I'll eat most anything else.

Fun!
ºOº I never went to Disney as a child. My first WDW trip was when I was 29.
ºOº I went to Disneyland for the first time when it and I turned 50.
ºOº Love to learn, so cannot wait until I'm 55 and eligible for ElderHostel.
ºOº I had a math class with John Tudor (MLB pitcher) in junior high.
ºOº My brother is a genius.
ºOº I'm not, but I belong to two MENSA sigs - and he doesn't :rotfl2:
ºOº I can read upside down.

1 - The age difference between my younger sister and I and DH and his younger brother is exactly the same, down to the day. (5 years, 2 months and 13 days)

2 - My grandfather lived to be 90+ years old and never once tasted ketchup.

3 - I hate spiders but don't mind snakes

4 - I can't stand watching action movies

5 - I don't find Matthew McConnaughey attractive in the least

6 - I was actually bored enough at one time to figure out fact #1

I think I am a relatively boring person, but let's see what I can come up with...

* Like a PP, I can't drive a stick shift either, and I am 36. I am stick-shift-inept.
* I live within a day's drive of more than 20 ski resorts, and have never even had skis on my feet.
* I detest "normal" veggies like onions and bell peppers and celery (that people seem to put in EVERYTHING - yuck) but I love things like brussels sprouts and cooked spinach.
* My 6 year old, who is one of the pickiest people I know, loves brussels sprouts and spinach too, but will not eat potatoes in any form.
* I am a very strong swimmer, but I CANNOT put my face in the water when I swim.
* I have never seen any of the Rocky, Rambo, Godfather, or Die Hard movies. I detest unnecessary violence in movies.
* My favorite movies are old Disney live action ones. I adore Hayley Mills, Tommy Kirk, Annette, and any of the True-Life adventures. I think remaking old Disney movies should be a crime.
* I am allergic to avocados. Which is very sad, as I adore guacamole. But it makes me hurl. :(

I despise coffee and tea - hot or cold

My Grandpa played pro ball for Detroit, Chicago and Kansas City. He worked for the Tigers for years.

Because of Grandpas time with the Tigers I met every single member of the 84World Series team and even hung out in the airport hanger with them when they left for the playoffs.

My moms baby shower for my brother (1988) was in the Detroit Tigers private clubhouse.

I eat food only because you need it to survive. I don't really enjoy any food.

I have a tooth that grew up instead of down. In order for it to be removed they would have to cut the roof of my mouth open. So there it stays!

None of the men in my life are biologically related to me except for my brother - and technically he is only half. My Grandpa married my Gram before I was born but is my moms stepdad, my dad married my mom when I was 10 (bio dad is not around), my husband obviously is not biologically related and we adopted our children, so my son is not also.

I've already responded, but I just wanted to say, I really like this thread :goodvibes
I thought of another odd thing

My ex husband is one of my best friends.
(Thought about that because he's having his gall bladder out today, and I"m worried for him)

1. I spent a year in therapy trying to get over my lobster phobia.

2. In the 70's, while serving in the Air Force, I had the worst case of scabies that had ever been reported.

3. The only baby I've ever held is my son.

4. I have several original Shrek posters in various languages framed and hanging in my office.

5. I wore braces from the age of 6 to 18 and even though I am in my 50's, I still have a permanent retainer.

I don't like salads when I eat them at home. But I frequently order salads in restaurants, even the entree sized salads. ( Even if they have the same ingredients at home ). :confused3

Even I don't understand that one. :rotfl:

Oh, and I kind of like the smell of skunk as long as it isn't TOO strong. :thumbsup2

I speak fluent Dutch.

I have hiked on a glacier close to Antarctica.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 9 years. He lives in Kansas City and I live in Houston. Works for us!

I play the oboe.

I, too, can't drive a stick nor can I parallel park.

I don't know how to whistle :rolleyes1
