The all time favorite Disneyland in California had a very humble beginning. Walt Disney and his brother Roy started the Disney Bros. Studio in the 1920’s, which then went on to be known as the Walt Disney Studios, with Alice’s wonderland being their first animated production. More you can find below.

Perhaps by using the phrase "Alice’s wonderland" it refers to The Alice Comedies, the first was produced in 1924.

I thought Snow White was the first movie....but the shorts were around long before - right?

It was not Alice in Wonderland it was Alice comedies...then came Snow White the first full length movie. Alice in Wonderland came after Snow White..

The Alice stories had a live girl playing a girl named Alice interacting with cartoon characters. They first started making them in Kansas City. KC is restoring the building they used to work in as "Laugh o grams". I'm not sure what the OP was linking to.

The Animation Building in DCA has one photograph about Walt Disney's Alice's Wonderland from 1924.
