The squirrels are eating our pumpkins!!

Does any one know how to keep squirrels away, besides traps? Is there a certain scent that they don't like? Anyone? Anyone?

The flies are eating our pumpkins. We spent so much time carving them with intricate patterns last Sunday and they are all practically rotten and destroyed now.

We have to leave our pumpkins in the garage until Halloween night....we have MILLIONS of squirrels around here...the pumpkins would be gone in a few hours if we didn't

I feel the same way...........to bad more people can't learn to live with all of the creatures on this earth (including each other)

I don't mind when the squirrels nibble my pumpkins either....

we use Intagra Get Away - squirrel and racoon repellant.....on whole pumpkins - never tried it on carved(we put our carved ones out at the last minute, so it doesn't matter) .....We found it at Agway (don't know if you have Agways). A few words of caution: you have to re-apply quite often, it leaves your pumpkins very shiny, and it will leave a residue, so be careful where you spray it.

It works by repelling them through taste and smell..using lemon extract, capsicum, and mustard oil.

We have had our pumpkins out for over a week now and the squirrels have left them alone - and our back woods is alive with squirrells!!!!

I don't mind the squirrels and deer getting them - after we are done with them!!!! After the holiday we will put them back in the woods - and break them open for the squirrels!!!!
