I posted this on the two Thumper threads, but I think it should still get it's own thread. 
When you are reading something, it can be very difficult to interpret the tone. We are so used to hearing tone that we can interpret it easily.
On the DIS, we are lucky to have many wonderful smileys. One in particular, the
smile
expresses no ill will in a post. I think that we should all try to use smileys, especially this one or some variation of it much more often, to elimiante the confusion in posts that can come from misenterpretation. This will hopefully make everyone smile more, and make posting a more pleasurable experience on the TB.
