ok - i give up. who cares anyhow - the market's in the crapper and we're all going down the drain with it.....

:lmao:...she ALWAYS says that...she aint gonna pull over, you know how much gas costs in NY!!! Deb, give him a 3 stooges poke in the eyes!!!! Quick, he's open!!!

What do we have here?...
Wise guy...ehhhe?..

Oh...I don't have to pull over ...you learn the "Drive, Reach and Swat"...in Motherhood 101. Usually perfected by the time your kids reach 7 or 8.
I don't even have to put my foot on the brake. I can easily reach two in the back seat, without ever taking my eyes off the road....and I drove a conversion van. My kids used to call me Stretch Armstrong! :rotfl:
I took it as a compliment. :cutie:

And..just so you know. I HAVE pulled over. Only had to do it one time. Let's just say, I never had to do it again. :rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

LOL....Phyl, you try to sound so tough!!! We all know you are Mother of the year. Heck, you're the only one of us who has has a child actually tell them NOT to spend money on them during Christmas...THAT is 100% SUCCESS!!!!:)

I'll be there...thanks to the help of some VERY good people here on these boards!!

I learn so much from you, Phyllis. :worship: You are my mentor in teaching me how to shame Rog when he disappears from the boards. :lmao:

Wow.. I'm touched. "Mother of the Year"....quite the improvement over "Stretch Armstrong"...:rotfl:

We'd like to go in October..but just too soon for us to know what October will bring. Should probably make a reservation..just to have one, can always cancel if we have to.

Al, I agree it was Bush's war, he wanted it he pushed for it.

Oh man.....this time I wasn't arguing with Al (can you believe it?). I was just offering a "friendly little bit" of sisterly advice about Wikipedia.

He rose to the occasion by siteing other web sources. He obeys the sistah!!! Besides...I'm his free ticket to FtW. He doesn't care to risk pizzing me off!:lmao:

Don't despair, folks. We'll find something else to "debate" over - - - just not this war & the economy. We agree on that - just not the details of it! :rolleyes1

I still maintain however, that unemployment is higher than what the Gov't & census claims it is.

Here's a question..... do people that reside in D.C., USVI, Puerto Rico.... have to pay federal income tax?

Federal income tax in USVI is the same as the states. The duties and tariffs on goods are different.

Puerto Rican do NOT pay Federal Income tax, BUT- they do pay some Medicare and Payroll taxes like mainlanders. They also pay income tax to a local tax bureau...which pretty much makes it a wash based on the lower level of income for the majority of the population.

How bout this for controversy...If you don't pay federal income taxes (talking regular states here) why should you get to vote?

And I still maintain that I am in agreement with you .

They have not called me to ask if we are working, and because we are self employed, they have absolutely no other way of knowing otherwise.
(at least not until they figure out that they aren't gett'n any money from us cause theres no work)

Listen, all I want is my Beer!...and to keep what little money I am now making in my pocket and out of the Messiah's:worship: Bush is gone and we have bigger problems to deal with now. Like I said. I like JW Dundee Honey Brown. If you can't find that than a bottle of Crown will do just fine and I will bring the Coke and we can forget about politics, the economy, taxes, Globalony Warming and whatever else for at least a few hours...or if we choose, a few days.:thumbsup2

Operation Iraqi Freedom was a formal delcaration of war by H.J. Res. 114 on October 16, 2002.

Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) was a formal declaration of war Sept. 14, 2001. S.J. Res. 23.

I could be wrong, imagine that, but I think the last declared war we had was WWII. I think Korea, Vietnam and Iraq are just authorization to use troops, not declared wars. Now if you are there fighting it doesn't matter if it is declared or not. But i would bet that they don't have to pay the same benefits to the wounded troops if it is not a declared war. I could probably best Madoff with this bet. Most of this country just follows pres and congress and oks anything they do.

In DC, yes, except for Marion Barry.

Former Washington Mayor Marion Barry has been released from the hospital after successfully undergoing a kidney transplant.

The 72-year-old D.C. Council member was released Friday from Howard University Hospital one week after receiving a kidney from longtime friend 47-year-old Kim Dickens.

An upbeat Barry says he feels better than he did before the surgery.

A spokeswoman for Barry has said his kidney problems are the result of diabetes and hypertension.

The kidney transplant came as prosecutors were seeking to have Barry jailed for failing to file his 2007 federal and local tax returns. A hearing is set for April 2.

I thought you were talking about Barry Obama for a second.

Honey Brown is a good beer, but I lean more towards lagers........

I'm not that stupid - I do know quite a bit about the War Powers Act though, after 36 years in the Army, it pays to knwo things like that. Wiki is actually pretty good about most things - people need a reason to change it - and they do lock down some stuff so it can't be changed.
