The skyliner is the worst

One of the reasons I wouldn't stay at one of the sky liner resorts is because you are almost forced to use it. I understand they do send buses but not as often as they do to the non-sky liner resorts. My son is afraid of heights and claustrophobic so he isn't stepping into that death trap (his words). If they would send the buses as often as other resorts, I wouldn't have a problem using them, I'm one of the minority that doesn't mind using them. I was there solo in April and as an experiment I took it from HS to Epcot. It took longer than it would have to walk it or even take a boat, I had to wait in line for about 15 min. at the transfer station as well. I wasn't impressed.

We also don't stay at the monorail resorts for the same reason. When it is operating between them and Epcot, you are forced to use it unless you walk over to MK and take a bus from there. My son will ride it for short rides to MK but the longer ride is out of the question. So Epcot resorts for us or the value and moderates that are not on the sky liner ride.

We enjoy riding the skyliner when we have a chance. Fun view of the parks and resorts. Nice comfortable ride. Never found the motion to be a problem at all and my wife is prone to motion sickness.

If they sent buses as often as other resorts, there would have been no point in building the Skyliner.

It's not practical because no one has figured out how to make it work well on a gondola lift.

I disagree. If money was not the stumbling point, they could put batteries on every car and change them as needed in the transfer stations. Of course that is not practical because it’s too expensive.

Skyliner was only running at 20% capacity since they wouldn't put multiple groups together. My family and I did it in Dec. 2019 at both open and close and it moved a heck of a lot faster than buses.

How much is it going to limit capacity if you have to bring down the occupancy limit to account for the batteries? The obvious solution is to go Disneyland next time. You can stay offsite and still walk to the front gate in 10 minutes. No transportation needed.

But even if they had a substation and routed the cars for extended maintenance, it could be done.

That’s my whole point. It CAN be done, but cost wise it’s not PRACTICAL.

It's not going to happen they aren't going to be adding air conditioning to them or putting new batteries in them, air conditioning does not work on gondola vecheles it has been tried by the company that Disney went with to build and design it, both of them deceied that it wasn't something that they felt to be necessary.

Then I'm not really getting what it was about? You suggested that they should have bigger batteries and pit crews changing them out which isn't really realistic because of the extra weight that it would add plus it would probably also change the capacity of them too as the number of people on board is a rough estimate of weight just like the capacity of an elevator is

No… the debate is over whether it’s possible or just not practical. I maintain it’s possible just not practical (cost effective).

I say is neither practical or possible given the evidence. There is only one gondola system in the world that has AC units on it and they don't work well enough to cool off a gondola in London England so I don't really see it working in Florida. There was a whole discussion about it on the news and rumors board in 2018 to 2019 with a few posts after that as well. A number of people brought up multiple times that they should have AC on them despite the evidence that it wouldn't work and both Disney and Dupelmire who built it both decided when it was being designed that it wasn't necessary because of the issues with it.

Agree to disagree. As I said it didn't work in London England so they didn't think it would work in Florida so not as possible as people want to make it out to be.

Cooling the lunar module is completely different then cooling a glass box that spends a lot of time with its doors open in the station.

Okay. It’s impossible to have AC in a gondola at ANY cost. . If that’s your position, I will agree to disagree.
Again, I fully agree it’s not practical. I’m just saying it’s possible.

Ok whatever I just don't see why people keep wanting to debate this. As I said it came up just about every week in the thread on the news and rumors page people seemed to have this idea that people would die in the heat inside of them and that Disney had no idea what they were doing when they didn't put AC in them.
