The skyliner is the worst

I had to laugh when you said "it wouldn't be pretty", don't we see the backside of Epcot over World Showcase when riding the Skyliner?

I'm confused, I thought that when the Skyliner goes down they do direct guests to a bus at BW via IG. Is that not true?
They used to do that, but posters above say they were told to walk to the front of the park.

Last week they were running "Skyliner Resort" busses from BW or BC on several occasions when the Skyliner was down. However, at least once, the sign inside the park by IG said to go to the front of the park. Maybe it depends on the expected amount of downtime - a bigger storm system may trigger the busses at BW. I never took one of the Skyliner Resort busses - the one time we were ready to leave and the sign directed us to BW, we just took a Lyft from BC.

It felt like there were a lot of storms last week (more than what I thought was normal) but we easily adjusted by taking a bus, Lyft twice, or just walking (DHS line was up but Epcot was down so we walked between the two). The Skyliner is a big reason I stay at PoP but I completely understand there will be downtime during certain weather and we budget for it - either with time or money.

We loved the skyliner our last trip (Jan 2020) we even got on it after the the light/fireworks show at HS on a busy day. It had a line but it was constantly moving. We probably waited 10 minutes at most. The trip before that I did the same show and waited for a bus (pre skyliner) and I had to wait 50 minutes for a bus.....

We love using it for HS. Epcot is a bummer because it takes you to the back of the park which doesn't open as early as the front. So in the mornings we end up using our rental car for epcot but we usually come back for naps mid day then we skyliner back

Our kids also had a blast on it so that's always a perk too.

I'm sorry you had a bad time with it!

Being sent to the front of the park is generally for people who were already in Epcot and wanted to go back to their Skyliner resort. In our experience last week, guests were only directed to the front of the park for a bus once when the Skyliner was down. On other occasions, guests were directed to BW or BC for a "Skyliner Resorts" bus.

That just screams "great customer service".
It's the same as if you wanted to take the monorail from one of the Epcot resorts but don't have a park ticket. Disney doesn't have to let you into the park to use a different type of transportation because you want to.
