The Sky is: "(fill in the blank)"

I was suppposed to be at WDW this week. I cancelled it about 2 months ago. It turned out to be a good thing because of us buying this house for my son. I could have still have afforded to get to Disney (in fact, I ate the plane ticket since I'd already purchased that) but I would have had to go over to the Budget Board to figure out how to eat while there.

I am on the waitlist for December to stay DVC but there is nothing open so far.

Good luck with the waitlist. The only reason I'm able to go is because we're going during free dining! Without free dining, it wouldn't be possible. This is also the only vacation I take.

It's almost 5:00 somewhere. I find a nice cold beer helps my allergies!

It used to work for me too, but now, after many years of drinking beer, I'm allergic to that too! :rotfl:

At 4Am the fog was so thick I couldn't see across the street :scared1:

Now it is another soggy, rainy, dreary day. I am beginning to feel like a mushroom. :sad2:

So anyone have anything exciting planned for today? Not me, I'm staying in and taking it easy.

Saturday will be hectic: getting an estimate for a new countertop; having some window treatments installed, getting an estimate for installing the wood floor. In between going to the library, grocery store, beer store and possibly Walmart or Kohl's. (I should have gone to Disney!)

Good morning.

Blue, breezy skies today, lots of pollen blowing my way.

This weekend, well, my staff and I will be working. We've taken 2225 applications so far and Saturday is our last day of hiring for the season. 300 people start to work today so my staff (NOT ME) was here at 4am this morning to hand out equipment to the new employees.

Piney what kind of countertops are you going with? I've got granite in my hew house and I don't think I could ever go back to anything else. I'd even give up closet space before I'd give up the granite.

We're getting Absolute Black granite - I can't wait! I had a whole big post, with pictures for you, and the site timed out. This is a before pic of part of the kitchen:

This is the color we painted it last week:

This is the floor we are getting (the wood is at the store, paid for, waiting to be installed :

This is the material for the window treatments (being installed on Saturday):

I want a "Tuscan" kitchen. We have a black double wall oven and cooktop. I eventually plan on a stainless steel dishwasher and fridge. We also need a new range hood; I can't decide between black and stainless.

Piney, I will definitely want to see an after pic after everything is installed. It's going to be gorgeous. I love the curtain fabric; I've had a "thing" for paisley my entire life and your fabric has an almost paisley look to it.

I would post pics of my nice kitchen but that would mean I'd have to clean it first. :lmao: Oh yeah, and then there's the little problem of being unable to find my camera.

I have a "thing" for paisley too :thumbsup2:lmao: My family room was designed around this chair (I had to have this fabric)

What color granite do you have? Is it hard to take care of?
