What color granite do you have? Is it hard to take care of?
My granite color is "weird" is the best way to describe it. It's a kind of tannish color with big flecks of black and dark purple in it. There are so many flecks that it's actually pretty dark in color. I have a full backsplash of granite too, all the way up to the cabinets. It looks okay if I turn on the under cabinet lighting but otherwise, it's pretty dark with that much granite so I kind of wish I'd done a different backsplash or not went all the way up to the cabinets.
I have an open floor plan (living, kitchen, breakfast room and formal dining room) are all open to one another, all tile floors (I have bad allergies and dogs so that was best choice). All of my curtains throughout my house are themed on that dark purple/eggplant because the designer said anything else would clash with the granite. And since I'm such an anal hun, I had 200 Christmas ornaments custom painted in that eggplant so that my xmas tree would perfectly match my color scheme.
Our house is 6 years old now and the granite has been super easy to take care of. Of course, we don't do any serious cooking and I detest clutter (clutter makes me tense) so there is nothing ever sitting on the countertops except dust.
OH and the chair is gorgeous. I would theme around that fabric too.

). I now have family members on the hunt in other parts of Texas. I swear, all this work for a few $1 toy guns is outrageous, but it means so much to him that I have to try. A lot of his friends can't come (its 17 because 8 are family and 2 of the other kids are bringing siblings) and on his actual birthday, May 12, he won't even get to see his Daddy. DH has mandatory training for work that day and the 19th. (He told the woman in charge of scheduling the training to expect a call from me
