question for you,

the skillet. It sounds big.

what happens if 1 adult orders it? will I get a mountain of food enough for an army? or would they at least scale it down...or dare I say 'personalize' it, ie
it comes with: Mixed greens with apple vinaigrette dressing, fresh baked cornbread with mashed potatoes,
coleslaw, cowboy beans and seasonal vegetables.
Smoked pork ribs, pulled pork, oven-roasted chicken, and smoked brisket

what if i said 'hold the beans and brisket'

We also have an ADR for Whispering Canyon Cafe and was wondering the same thing. It'll only be my daughter and me, and I would hate to see so much food go to waste.

I'm pretty sure it is scaled for the # of people who order. I don't know about making changes when you order, but if you want more of something else during the meal, you ask specifically for that. It was alot of food for my DH and myself. But good!

Yes alot of food! But soooo good and yes if there is something you like more then the other you can ask for more of that one thing ect. yummmmmy

They do scale it down to "per person" ordering. Although, for one person it is a lot of food. I was allowed to share some off my plate with my 3 children, ages 6, 7 and 8 at the time, although they had ordered kids meals and not the "kids skillet" which would have been brought our family style with my adult skillet. Example: all 3 of my kids saw my corn on the cob and wanted some. Our waitress brought out corn for each of them.

Edited to add: I'm sure that is not a policy, since there is a "skillet" on the kids menu. I really should have been charged three children skillets in addition to the kids meals they did order if they wanted to eat off my skillet. However, they wanted only a piece of corn on the cob and our waitress just brought them each one. Which I thought was really nice. If they'd said we'd have to pay for 3 children's skillets for the corn, I'd have told her not to bring it out. The kids would get over it since it wasn't on the plate they ordered.

Can one adult order it and then share it with another adult or would this not really be acceptable?

Sharing the skillet is not permitted. They'd charge the other person the skillet price as well.

Ok, for some reason I was thinking it was more like Ohana and the skillet was brought to the table family stlye for everyone to share. Thanks.

WCC is not an all you can eat fixed price restaurant like Ohana. The skillet is the only all you can eat item. Anyone who orders it will be charged the skillet price, and they'll bring one skillet with enough food for that many people. Asking for refills is fine because it's all you can eat, but you can't share it with those who didn't order it.

I am so glad I now know - thank you for your help. We are eating there in Dec. and I was thinking it was more like Ohana. Glad to know ahead of time. Thanks!

It is family stye, and like Nala said, anyone who dips into it will be charged.

However, on one trip, three of us got the skillet, and the fourth got something off the menu (she's a vegetarian). We were all charged accordingly.
