The Simpsons upgrade question

What are they doing to the Simpsons ride to upgrade it? I didn't even realize the were working on it.

They aren't doinganything to the exisiting ride.They are adding a small ride ( think similar to dumbo) and A moes tavern and Krusty Burger venue

Besides Moe's and Krusty Burger there will be a Lard Lad and a venue themed to Cletus the slack jawed yokel (the place that was originally going to be Kentucky Fried Panda) as well as Duff Gardens by the lagoon (which will be next to the Dumbo-like Kang and Kodus spinner).

I thought it was just shops and food. I didn't realize they were putting in a "kiddie" ride, so I haven't been paying attention to the dates. When will the new ride be open?

Do we know for a fact that the ride will be tame like Dumbo?

When I read that it was called the Twirl 'n' Hurl, my first instinct was that will be a ride to avoid because it'll probably be to scary/sickly.

We don't know if the individual little space ships will twirl or not. If they do, I suspect it will surely be a hurl ride.

When I read that it was called the Twirl 'n' Hurl, my first instinct was that will be a ride to avoid because it'll probably be to scary/sickly.

True.... But honestly, I'm thinking it would be a typical dumbo/Alladins Carpet/one fish two fish/ Astro Orbiter / Triceritop Spin / etc etc etc carnival ride, and not a more active "hurl" type ride.

Knowing the alien Characters the ride is themed around, and their traditional, rather incompetent, history of attempting to "Take over the world" or simply "kill all humans!".... I could TOTALLY see their latest scheme being "Make the humans hurl so we can take over this puny planet" by means of spinning them around and around, laughing the entire way.




And from a practical standpoint, I just can't see Universal intentionally making a hurl type ride which would spin you while flipping or spinning you.... The protein Spill Cleanup issues would be worrisome enough on an attraction like that, It'd be even worse when it's placed between a beer garden and the attraction that could be the most nausea inducing attraction at the entire resort.

Or if the UFOs do spin, they could spin very slowly. That, for me, would be enough to induce the hurling.

Sorry...I just have to laugh at the name Twirl 'n' Hurl. Who else but Universal would name a ride something like that!
