The Silly and Mischievous Adventures of Four Crazy Canucks - FINAL THOUGHTS 2/1

A tip for the deluxe resorts... look for alue seasons.

We switched our ressie from OKW to the Contemporary and are going 2 week later. The price we had for the OKW without passes was enormous. Now we are staying at the CR and paying half including our passes.

But I agree...the Poly's more expensive. It's definetly on my must do list.

What a wonderful afternoon! My dream day at the Poly! :teeth:

Great update! Isn't the Poly gorgeous? I've always loved it; it's tied with the Contemporary for my favorite resort! We spent time lounging around on the hammocks and then watched Wishes from the lounge chairs back in 2005, and it was probably my favorite day of the entire trip! Your pictures come out great, it looked like a nice, relaxing afternoon!

Great update:thumbsup2
I wanna know how the boys sat on that beach swing?
I kept sliding off the darned thing!!!!

 No idea, I never attempted to sit on it so I can not give any advice.

We usually travel during regular or value season, it all depends on our school and work schedules. The Poly trip is a few years down the road though so who knows what our schedules will be like. :cutie:

:scared1: no story of my real near death experience lessa???:scared1:

Sorry! You know you could always post it yourself.

Alek's near death experience:

When we were sitting outside eating and the bee came along Mom started to swat at it to shoo it away. Alek and I started to freak out and yell at her as she was only going to anger it and cause it to sting one of us, Mom of course got offended that we were angry with her for swatting at the bee. If Alek had been stung then we really would have had to make a trip to the hospital.

It was a wonderful afternoon, so relaxing, aside from the bee incident.

Thanks, yep the Poly is beautiful, the pictures of the rooms look nice too so I am sure we will like that aspect of the resort as well. Can't wait for 2011 or 2012 to roll around. :rotfl:

Who was our next character meet and greet going to be with? Why it was Clarice, Chip and Dale's girlfriend!

We hopped in line and were the last ones before they cut it off. Then for some reason, can't remember why, they moved us all inside. :confused3

Since we were the very last in line we didn't feel rushed and so we each got our photo taken individually with her.

After that we went back outside and joined back up with Mom. She went off to find a restroom and I wandered down Main St to take some pictures while Alek and Erich held down the fort. When I got back I saw that Mom had made some purchases and Alek and Erich were all excited about a new character that had come out.

They of course could not resist a butt shot

Sadly we could not get our picture taken with Friar Tuck as they had cut the line off. :guilty:

The crowds were slowly starting to build along Main St as we waited for the parade to start.

Now due to the spot Mom had grabbed for us we got to see the parade go by three times. It started in town square, went up Main St to the castle and then came back down and ended where it started. So we got to see it as it came out, went around the circle in town square and then as it came back down Main St.

Our usual arrangement followed, Alek and Erich took pictures and I took video.

After the parade exited town square and made its way to the castle Erich decided it was time for him to make his departure and head back to the hotel. We said our goodbyes and waited for the parade to come back down Main St so we could get some pictures of it with the castle in the background.

Well the parade was almost halfway back down Main St when all of the sudden the skies opened up and it began to rain like it had never rained before. We didn't even get any warning sprinkles, one moment it was fine and the next it was pouring. All of Main St let out a loud collective scream and I swear the street was deserted within seconds. Everybody had screamed and made a dash for the cover of the stores, I have never seen a place clear out so quickly. I have to tell you that this was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. First the reaction of the crowd and then how the parade went on from there. All of the sudden the floats started to speed up so they were just zooming down Main St, the characters on them were still doing their thing though, dancing away and waving to the crowds. The characters that were on foot started running, some of them had some fun with it though and were splashing around in the puddles. Have you ever seen a broomstick run? Well we now have. We tried to stick it out where we were but Alek and I eventually gave in and ran for shelter as well. Mom however stuck it out right there in the middle of Town Square until the parade was over. I think Alek and I were more concerned about destroying our cameras by having them exposed out there in the rain.

Here are some pictures we managed to get just so you could get an idea of how heavy the rain was.

This is when the rain just started

In this one you can tell how the first broom is motoring along and then the Pinocchio character in the background looks like he is straight out running.

Luckily for them all the Princesses and their Princes had umbrellas with them.

I found these videos on youtube of this exact parade. I wish we had gotten some of our own video but to give you an idea of how it went down I thought I would share these links.

I think it is hilarious when some of the foot characters start playing in the puddles, I think they had probably given up and decided to just have fun with it since they were already soaked through.

This second video more accurately shows you how fast those floats actually were going, it was hilarious.

***Now Alek I know I left a lot of pictures out but I just did not have room for them. You and Erich can feel free to post any that you specifically want to share.***

Yep, they sure know how to keep their composure under unusual circumstances.

I for one though it was great!!! It was fun to see such a downpour.
GREAT UPDATE!!!!

I still can not believe all the rain you guys had on your trip, Lessa!

It sounds like you all took it in stride though.

I can't imagine being in one of those costumes, like Rafiki, and getting soaked! Yuck!

And I agree, what's up with the mermaid needing an umbrella?!?

Great update Less. Where did the characters go? Did they run in for cover with you guys? Or did they head off the end of the parade route?

The butt shots crack me up. :rotfl2:
