The Silly and Mischievous Adventures of Four Crazy Canucks - FINAL THOUGHTS 2/1

I dunno lessa we're gonna have to have a family vote on this one cause I remember differently and maybe I have drank to much and switched up events but so far when it came to every family vote I've been right even if you deny it on the disboards :thumbsup2

Perhaps you are remembering the MK parade where it started near us went up Main St and then came back down? That has to be it because there is no way you are right about the AK parade.

This is the best report I've read since logging on to these boards. You are doing all of us mentally challenged Canadians proud. Your family is a hoot--I'm actually kind of jealous; in comparison, me and mine are a bunch of grumpy lumps--and you are an hilarious cutie. This trip has made me resolve to TAKE MORE PHOTOS!

Wow, thank you for the awesome compliment! :goodvibes I am so glad you are reading along. If you like this report you should check out our report from July 2007, the link is in my sig.

Well, you deserve the compliments. This is one detailed piece o' work, my friend, and I love that you posted skip links so that I didn't have to cull page after page.

I sent some selected pics to the wife along with a request to hold me to more picture and video-taking while on vacation and she promptly returned with: "Sure, you say that NOW. When we're there, you'll just b***ch and moan and look grumpy."

She's right, of course, but I am having fun, I promise.

When our safari vehicle pulled up we clambered on into the back row of the truck. Well let me just say that the back row of the truck provide a VERY bumpy ride. My butt flew out of my seat more times than I could count, it was actually rather fun. It was of course raining while we were out on the safari so the animals were out all over the place. Here's some pictures for your viewing pleasure:

We were absolutely tickled to come upon some elephants bathing. They are almost completely submerged in that pool, I wonder how deep it is?

After the safari ride was finished it was finally time to leave the park. The entire walk back through the park and to the parking lot it was absolutely pouring, it was windy too. Of course I was getting drenched as my poncho was gaping open from the rip that kept getting bigger as the day went on, my stupid big head. :headache: Needless to say it was a brutal walk back to the car. Thankfully we didn't lose the car this year like we did last year. :lmao:

Mom had been toying with the idea of visiting the Animal Kingdom Lodge and having dinner there but we ultimately decided to go back to POP for a little bit and then have dinner off property instead.

Once back at POP we all dried off a bit and lounged around relaxing. I wrote in my trip journal while Alek and Erich made some trip notes of their own on the laptop. They wanted to be prepared to comment on the trip report after all. While we were doing that Mom was watching the latest news on Tropical Storm Fay. She just didn't want to go away! She kept hovering around Central Florida then going out to sea and then coming back etc etc. We just wanted her to go away already!

Eventually our hunger got the best of us and we headed out for dinner. It was a good thing too as I was beginning to feel a bit sick and faint. I guess that can happen to you when you don't eat anything for 10 hours and you spend the day walking around an amusement park. For whatever reason we never ended up stopping for lunch and so the last time we had eaten other than an ice cream cone was around 8:30 at Donald's Breakfast.

We settled on Uno's as it was right at the Crossroads Shopping Centre. The restaurant was almost empty so we got seated right away. This Uno's is the site of an unfortunate family event from our 1997 Disney Trip. Back in 97 we had spent the day at Epcot and back then they still had the Wonders of Life pavilion. While visiting this pavilion we were forced to see the "attraction" "The Making of Me" by our cruel parents. Well that night at dinner Erich asked Mom and Dad a question pertaining to that attraction and mom proceeded to mortify us by drawing a diagram on one of the provided napkins. Oh fond memories of my childhood.

The service here was very good, the waitress took our orders quickly and it didn't take too long for the food either. I don't remember what Mom and Alek had, I think Mom had a salad and Alek may have had pasta. Erich and I each had a pizza, Erich ordered the Deep Dish and I had the flatbread. My flatbread was delicious! Erich says his pizza was good too but the cheese and toppings kept sliding off, it was rather amusing watching him try to eat it. :lmao:

After dinner we went back to the hotel and relaxed for the rest of the night. While the photos were downloading onto the computer I headed down to the food court with Erich? He wanted to fill our mug up and I wanted to get a piece of the famous tye dye cheesecake.

I was a bit disappointed in it, only about 1/2 of it is cheesecake, the other half is red velvet cake. I did not notice this until I actually bit into it. I was very disappointed. I love cheesecake so to find that it was not all cheesecake was disheartening. The cake was only okay in my books, I probably will never buy it again, not to mention the food colouring stains your mouth something awful and that food colouring stays with you for a while.

Here's a night shot of POP that I took from right outside our door

And some pictures of the towel art that we had received so far

After reviewing our pictures for the day we all went to sleep. We decided not to go to our 8am ADR at Crystal Palace the next morning so we got to "sleep in" a little bit.

I wanted to try the tie-dye cheesecake so badly.
But, you're the second one I read that complained about its quality.
Hmmm, I don't know now.

Too bad about the rain. I would love it!!! it rains like twice a year here and its only a downpour for about 2 mins.:lmao:

Ahh life in the desert. Hope it rains like mad in February when we go.

Some people rave about it, others not so much. I say go ahead and try it, you may like it and you will always wonder about it if you don't.

:rotfl: Crazy lady

Look at the rain in that elephant photo, looks like the animals liked it though :rotfl:

Love your towel animals, so cute and what a shame about the cheesecake :sad2:

Love the shots of the resort at night! It looks so pretty!

We usually end up in the middle of the safari truck, so I had no idea that the back was bumpier. I'm glad you liked it!

Dinner sounds nice, and I'm sorry about the cake.

Can't wait to hear what's next!

I can't believe you were on the safari during that torrent:eek: WE had just hit the bus shelters when the sky opened up.

I agree with you about the tie dye cheese cake. It was ok, but not something I would die for....

The more I read your report the more I am amazed we didn't run into each other more. THe rubiks cube closest in your picture is the stairway we used everynight to get back to our room on the second floor of the building.

The towel animals were adorable, I was pleased that we got so many of them.

Thanks, it was very pretty all lit up at night.

The back is definitely bumpy! I think I was in the air more than I was on the seat. :lmao:

The animals actually came out in the rain? I would have thought that they would seek shelter.:confused3

Yep, the rain is probably a nice relief to them after all the heat and sun they usually experience. It was a nice and cool which allowed for some good animal activity.

We stayed pretty dry while on the safari, it was the walk from the back of the park to the car that killed us.

Yeah, it is too bad we didn't see more of you. Maybe on a future trip. :goodvibes

BUTT of course we had to have that Rhino shot !!:lmao: DD lovesthe cheesecake I had to bring some back for her in Feb!! I think it is ok but I loved the Twinkie Tiramasu which they no longer have !!!!

Hi Lessa! My big job ended on Friday so I am using my lazy Sunday to Dis. I am so glad I am all caught up on your report! :surfweb:

Oh my gosh this is hilarious! :lmao: Sorry I know it scarred you...but very hilarious.

I have to say the tye-dye cheesecake freaks me out a bit. It makes me nervous to think about ingesting that much food coloring!

:woohoo: for the big project being done.

That's okay our family makes a habit of talking about strange/inappropriate things in restaurants. Alek still gets mad and Mom and I for teasing him while eating at a Pizza Hut about dorm life and what it means to leave a sock on a doorknob. ;)

Yeah, definitely too much food colouring.
