The Silly and Mischievous Adventures of Four Crazy Canucks - FINAL THOUGHTS 2/1

:scared1: I have to agree about the insanity at TSM at opening, I held onto to Kelly for dear life!:scared1:

Um, nice pic from the car. I fell your pain with 2 brothers of my own Lessa:hug:

But would the flies not bite the entire body? The cows tails along with other animals with small tails right above the bum bum need it to protect flies from laying eggs in their bum bum :scared:

My friend bill who raises cows taught me about the awesomeness of cows :rotfl:

the things we learn on the DIS.... :lmao:

Hi Lessa
Just spent the last hour reading your pretrip/trippie. You have the best pics, makes me feel like I'm in Disney. Your DB's are too funny :lmao: tell them those princess dresses would look great on them. So I guess you liked Pop oaky? I'm looking forward to trying TSM but it I'm worried about crowds. DO you think I should send DH for the FP's while the rest of us get in the standby line?? We have to leave the park at 2:30 because we have and early dinner at Chef Mickey's with friends.

Yeah, POP was alright, nothing spectacular but it was only a short trip and we didn't spend much time at the hotel anyways.

Definitely grab fastpasses for TSM right away if you think you will want to ride more than once. The line forms quickly and throughout the day I consistently saw over 1 hour waits.

.

I agree Lessa. It is a basic motel room, but for the amount of time we actually spend there the price is right:thumbsup2 Were the 4of you in one room. That must have been a tight squeeze. We were fine last year with just the 3 of us, but that extra person made the room seem that much smaller.

Yep, it was the 4 of us in there. It wasn't that bad except for there wasn't much room for all our stuff and the sink counter was overflowing with all our various toiletries. The next big family vacation we are going to go deluxe again as we plan on taking a more relaxed approach and spending a lot more time at the hotel. Alek specifically said that he doesn't want to be spending the whole day in the parks next time. Fine by me, especially if we are going to be dishing out the dough to stay at the Poly.

That is the one nice thing about a longer trip, you don't feel like you have to rush, rush rush.

Definitely, with only one day per park this visit I definitely did not take much time to just stop and relax as I was constantly thinking about what ride/attraction we should do next.

Hi Lessa tell me more about your May trip next year!!

Don't have any real plans just yet, just dates. Mom and I will arrive on 5/18 or 5/19 depending on flights and stay at POP until 5/23. I know I want to eat at Jiko one of those nights. :thumbsup2 5/23-5/30 we will be sailing on the Disney Magic. The ports of call are St Thomas/St John, Tortola and Castaway Cay.

Janet read my mind and asked the question I was thinking. That must've been tight. Ooooh the Poly! :cloud9:

Hey have you ever thought of renting points to stay at one of the DVC Villas? It might be a little cheaper and spacier and if you get a 1-2 BR Villa you'll have the kitchen to save on money for breakfast or somethin'. Just a thought. Still, the Poly. :cloud9:

Ooooh Tortola! I've never been there! :scratchin: May you say? Hmmmm
.......off to check out Disney Cruises in May. :tiptoe:

Yeah, we were originally planning AKL but the Poly was so nice! :lovestruc I have thought about renting points but that requires an awful lot of trust. I think I would kill myself from the stress of it all worrying if the person was legit and if they got everything right with the reservation. :scared:

:rotfl: We have a cabin that fits four people, want to bunk with us? :rotfl:

I am excited, the latest rumour on the Cruise boards is that DCL is heading for Northern Europe 2010. If that is true I will be so tempted to switch our reservations once again. Hey Jo, will your house be ready for visitors by then? Better get that caravan all set up. :lmao:

the toy story ride has me in a delema, we wree going to go to AK first thing that morning, thenhead over to HS for the rest of the day, but if we do that, the stand by line for toy story will be really long, and the fast passes will all be gone for that day, so what to do what to do, we are only spending 3 days in the parks, so i guess we could go to HS first thing, then leave and hang out at AK for a little bit around lunch time, then go back to HS for the night time light show of the osborns.

what is the opion in the frozen tundra up north.
:confused3

I think that your plan is a good one but the time on the bus could be time consuming. I guess you need to decided how important going on Toy Story this trip is. If it is not that important then I say save it for the next trip.

Pumped after our fun ride on Toy Story we headed over to catch the Little Mermaid show. We had missed out on this last year so I wanted to make sure we got it in this time around.

We were lucky and didn't have to wait too long for a show to start. Some pictures from the holding room.

When they opened the doors I told my family we should hold back a second and let some people fill in the rows a bit before trying to get our seats, that way we could be more towards the middle. Alek and Erich didn't like that and said I was blocking people. I really didn't think I was, not like I was standing in the doorway or at the entrance to a row but apparently I angered some guy. I was completely clueless to this. Anyways since they didn't want to wait we just filed into a row and ended up getting decent seats anyways. The plan was for Erich to take pictures and for me to record the show. Some parts of the show were so dark that parts of the video did not turn out that well as I was just using my camera. Here are some of Erich's pictures, I'll post the video in a separate post for those who are interested in checking them out. Really the only dark part is where they are singing Under the Sea.

The show was okay, not what I expected, half of it was video clips from the movie. I thought the whole thing was going to be a stage show like Beauty and the Beast.

When we went outside it was still raining.... So back on with the ponchos. Our next stop was One Man's Dream, another thing we did not do last year.

I enjoyed looking at all the displays of the models of all the various parks.

I think that the Disneyland Paris castle is so pretty!

As some of you know I am planning a trip to Japan. It won't be happening for many years but that doesn't mean I can't plan out what cities to visit and what sites to see. Alek says he will go with me but he hasn't shown much enthusiasm and doubts we will ever even go. We will! Once we have jobs that make real money. Anyways, I have shown him numerous photos of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea and he has never really said much about it. However when we saw the model of Mysterious Island at DisneySea he all of the sudden got interested. He said he thought it looked really cool. I can't wait to someday visit Tokyo Disney, it looks simply amazing! If you guys have not seen pictures from the park you should look some up, breathtaking! There was a blog report about the parks on All Ears back in July if you are interested.

Alek and Erich got all excited when they saw the Kingdom Hearts display, they love these games. I have never played, don't know why as we own them both. Maybe that will be my fall/winter entertainment.

087a.jpg

We did not stick around to watch the video as it did not appear that it would be starting anytime soon. Instead we headed next door to meet Prince Caspian. The line was covered by an awning but there were a few areas where the rain could drip through. When we were at the front of the line another family was lead in front of us. We didn't mind though as they had on Make A Wish shirts. Who are we to begrudge a sick kid a visit with a character, waiting a few more minutes wasn't going to kill us.

When we walked in the photopass photographer started snapping photos right away, I love the photographers that make the effort to do that. It can make for some great candid shots instead of having only posed photos. Alek had been joking the entire time in line that he was going to make a "poor me" face in the picture as he thinks that Prince Caspian was a whinny wuss in the movie.

Caspian was really friendly and chatty and took my arm for the picture.

This is the picture that mom snapped, we all look normal

And then the photopass

Mom had to get her picture with him too :rolleyes1 Note Alek's mocking pouty lip.

As we were leaving he asked me what adventures we had been up to so far so I told him Toy Story. His reply was "Ah, so you have been practicing your archery skills". I told him I wasn't very good though so he told me I should ask for lessons from Queen Susan. :rotfl: Mom said he was chatting me up, I said he was just doing his job.

Next we were sent into the actual Narnia attraction. Do not go into this if you have not seen the movie, there are major movie spoilers.

It was neat seeing some of the props from the movie but this is not something to go out of your way to see.

When we got out of the attraction, guess what! Still raining, so on with the ponchos once again. lol Mine was starting to rip at the neck, my head must just be too big as every time I put that darn thing on it ripped more and more.
