The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

I head over to AK to hopefully catch the parade and meet up with Wigd and Shocker and hopefully MeMom, Jill and the family.

I arrive here at 3:49.

Did I mention how hot it was? The humidity was high too.
Evidence of high humidity.

IMG_3524.jpg

My hair does that too. If I leave it down I look Like Roseannrosannadanna. :rotfl2:

Look a parade. I will apologize now for all the parade pictures, I just can't cut anymore out. Yes there were more, I love this parade.

Thank you for all those who stuck with me through the parade and sorry to those who had to suffer through all the pictures.

Now I am heading to a very special Dis meet and a Taste of Africa.

Outhouse juice? :scared1:  :rotfl2:

Well I made that up. ;)

I worked with a girl whose sister worked in the water testing division of the County. She would use the term dumpster juice to describe the stuff that leaks out from the dumpsters. She also said that was the offical term for that stuff. :teacher:

I extrapolated to outhouse juice for a similar type of description. :rotfl2:

Pat, I LOVED all the pictures of the parade at the Animal Kingdom. We have only seen it once and we reallly have to figure out a way to get back there one of these years.

Thank you for sharing them with us. And the one where you said "look how excited she is" (or something similar to that), did you notice how "bored" her son (I assume son) looks? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

We just converted our salt water pool to chlorine. We had an awful time keeping the ph levels where they needed to be and it was really hard to keep clean. :sad2: The company that originally installed our pool even discourages the salt water pools now.

Good to know Michelle. I don't think I'll be getting a pool any time soon, but I'll keep this information tucked away for sure. :thumbsup2

Pat, I've never seen the parade at AK. I'm just not a parade kinda girl, and I don't have the wear with all to stand out in the sun to watch it with a bunch of people crowding me and making me even more hot, sad I know. To me the parade is just something to get in my way as I'm trying to get to another spot in the park. The only parade I've even thought about sticking around for was this one. Maybe I'll find a drink at the dawa bar and watch it from there? Is that even possible to sit there and watch the parade?
Thank you for the update and thank you for the information on the ph levels in the pool. :goodvibes

Look how much fun she is having.

Little Man, however, is done with the waving and ready to get to Kali River to cool off.

What a great what to start my Thursday - with one of my most favoritest ever parades! :cool1: You know I loved seeing them all. ::yes::

I don't remember it being so hot at that time.

Oh yeah, that's cuz I was in the cool, dark room with a sleeping Bella. ;)

I hate that I missed the Taste of Africa meet, but my leg had to have a break and Bella had to have a nap, so it was time for us both to give it up for a little while. Have you heard if they will do the Taste of Africa thing again the year?

Nice!

I really liked:

The "how humid" picture,
the "look how much fun she is having" picture,
and the drip of water picture...never noticed that before.

Great parade pics Pat, thanks for sharing them! I've never seen this parade but I think I'm going to need to make it a priority at some point. It looks so colorful and fun and I really like the music from it that is on a CD I have.

Great pictures of the parade!

Love the parade family--the parents look like they are having a blast. Poor kid looks bored to death!

Well, if I liked parades and was patient enough to actually stop and watch it, I'd probably like it, but unfortunately,e I'm not. but I did love all your pictures, even in the parades Disney is so creative!

That poor boy must have been so hot! He could probably only think of getting a cold coke and a splash in the pool.

Outhouse juice is completely APT for the "stuff". Really, it is.

:lmao:

Thank you. It took a while for me to see it see but once I did, I kept going back. I love the CM's and how enthusiastic they are. It was so hot that day.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I did not catch that.... that is sooooo funny.

I wasn't a parade girl for the longest time but MeMom had so many fantastic pictures of the parades I figured I would give it a try, especially when I was by myself and did not hear any one else whine. :lmao:
I don't always plan or stop when I see one but lately I have been stopping more or just crashing into them accidently- see NYE trip :rotfl2:

You can see them go by Dawa but that would be right at 3:45. I like being by the safari entrance/exit and I can wait until the parade comes around for the second time and it is relatively empty over there. I don't like using valuable park time to wait for the parade. These trips I have been pretty lucky at finding a not so bad spot without waiting too long.

Sometimes pool stuff just comes spewing out- I apologize now for allt he pool/poo talk too. :upsidedow

Little Man, however, is done with the waving and ready to get to Kali River to cool off.

I was so focused on her that I did not even see him. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

What a great what to start my Thursday - with one of my most favoritest ever parades! :cool1: You know I loved seeing them all. ::yes::

I know you would like it- It was hard to pare down to those many.:lmao:

I don't remember it being so hot at that time.

Oh yeah, that's cuz I was in the cool, dark room with a sleeping Bella. ;)

So hot ! You were lucky to be in that room.

I hate that I missed the Taste of Africa meet, but my leg had to have a break and Bella had to have a nap, so it was time for us both to give it up for a little while. Have you heard if they will do the Taste of Africa thing again the year?

I do hope they do it again but I would almost like it to be in November or December so it wouldn't be so darned hot.

I remember you being just so worn out - you did need the rest.

Nice!

I really liked:

The "how humid" picture,
the "look how much fun she is having" picture,
and the drip of water picture...never noticed that before.

Did you see the boy? I did not see him when I first took or first poseted the picture. :rotfl2:

How humid - just like taking a shower inside your body? ;)

It is funny how many details there are- you can't see them all in one shot.

Great parade pics Pat, thanks for sharing them! I've never seen this parade but I think I'm going to need to make it a priority at some point. It looks so colorful and fun and I really like the music from it that is on a CD I have.

Ohhhh I may need to get that music for the 5k in Oct- That will get me moving faster.

I just like how much fun they seem to have. It is contagious.

Paradehater :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I get it. I was just crashing into parades the last few times and this was really no different. This one is really high energy and if you get inteh shade it is nice- Camille has it right - dawa bar and sit it the shade with a nice cool drink and watch.

That poor boy must have been so hot! He could probably only think of getting a cold coke and a splash in the pool.

I am sure the wait behind the scenes was long and that parade has a long route. From Africa by the safari, all the way to the tree and around back to Africa.

I thought so. :snooty: :rotfl2:

I was a bit behind...again.

I gotta say, with my solo trip now set I have been feeling guilty about it - and wondering how it will go, I keep inviting Joe and Henry ...but, reading your report just made me excited all over again about going solo!

Like how Disney themes it even with the official seal.

I like how they say diaper age children must wear swim diapers...to stick their head in a fountain. :rotfl: I know, rules, rules - but it's pretty hilarious!

When this happens there is a procedure:
1) Clear the pool - :thumbsup2:
2) Remove the foreign matter

IMG_3516.jpg

:thumbsup2:

3) Check chlorine and pH levels
IMG_3518.jpg

:thumbsup2:

4) Deal with PR. Relay message of “unscheduled cleaning” it will be 30 minutes yada, yada, yada.

IMG_3519.jpg

:thumbsup2:

Yup, they have it under control. I can resume my vacation. :rotfl:

I loved this update!

And then the conversation that followed...:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I would have gone in. That poop was neutralized the moment it hits the water. I have no problem with that. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: but very good to know!!!

Already dealt with that today at work.:sad2:

Storms come through, everyone out, they go eat, ....... well there you go. ;)

I was at the top of my game today with the storms. I did better than the weather people, predicting when it would roll through almost to the minute.

Weather predicting- that is my super power.
