The Shopping Centres Are DEAD! Sunday Afternoon B4 Cmas!

Hi All ~ We avoided "extra" shopping due to crowds....BUT, today we decided to have breakfast out and do a little Walmart shopping.

EVERY PLACE WAS DEAD! NO CROWDS!

DH just went to grocery store and LC.....NO CROWDS!

YIPPEE!

yeah, I noticed that too. I was at the mall at lunch time and it was no where near busy.......

They are all at Buffalo. NY.

I went out to a Super Walmart in Scarborough this morning at 8am and it was pretty busy. Long line ups at the checkouts. Had to get a last minute gift from Santa for DH.

I was finished shopping, however, we have American family that can't make it and we do the "name picking" thing for gifts, so since they aren't coming, I wanted to buy their gift recieptiants gifts..... so off to the shops! S

There has been a huge turndown in the economy here due to the royalty review. Dh was laid off Nov 22. It is no where near as busy and people are not buying as much. The Salvation Army is way below it's normal contributions. I really see the possibility of a recession starting in Calgary.

Here in New Brunswick.. the malls in Fredericton, Saint John and Moncton were all HOPPING today.

Don't even ASK why I was at all three. (grumble grumble)

Hmmm I worked an extra day today for Walmart in BC. Could barely catch my breathe it was so crazy.

Ironically, *I* wasn't shopping for anything.

I live in Fredericton. Had to drive to Saint John to pick up my Aunt and drive her to Moncton and then return to Fredericton.

Giddy-up. I'm TIRED.

Well, at least you live in one of our smaller provinces.

Can you imagine if you lived in Ottawa, had to drive to Kenora to pick up your Aunt, drive her to Windsor and then return to Ottawa? You'd have missed Christmas!

We don't have any malls here but I expected to see our Walmart packed and was surprised it wasn't when I was there early afternoon today.

DH and I have to drive to Niagara Falls tomorrow to pick up my parents, drop them off at my sister's in Cambridge and I'm not looking forward to that with the weather forecast.

I didn't hit any malls today - finished my shopping by the end of November and have stayed well away from the malls. BUT I have to hit the grocery store tomorrow to pick up some starbucks tassimo disks for my sil - a tad scared of what I'll walk into but if I go early enough perhaps it won't be too bad!!

Yep...I have to go grocery shopping too. I tried to go on Sat., but looked at the parking lot and turned around. Hopefully I'll be able to get up and get it done before everyone else gets out there.

I've seen the Tassimo Starbucks discs at some A&P's, Super Walmarts and Linen'n'Things. They are expensive at 10.99 a pack.

Need to go stateside in the next week to stock up on some different flavours.

You need to head to White Oaks Mall in London it was a zoo I loved it. I had to go pick up a pair of slippers for the wife from our kids that was a last minute thing she decided she wanted after her old pair fell apart 2 days ago.

The Starbucks Tassimo i found in Stoney Creek, at Walmart for $8.99 and at the barn. FYI- The make a larger cup of coffee then the regular coffees made.(ie Maxwell house) They are good, Wonder if we could ever get Timmies on board ...lol
