The secret to good trick or treating...

I took youngest dd out while oldest was taking a nap...I guess we hit about 30 houses...lotta lute..
Oldest dd doesn't wanna go until there is like 20 minutes left. so we get her all dressed up and everyone is handing out handfuls of candy instead of 1 or 2 pieces....I think the 10 houses we went to gave us as much as the 30 that I went to earlier..

That is it exactly, Shep! I always tell the kids in the neighborhood that if they come to our house later in the evening, they'll get more candy because we always hand out more, the later it gets.

Now be honest, Shep, how much of that extra candy did you take so you could "check it to make sure it's safe to eat?"

I can tell you what is NOT the secret... we had a little boy come to our house who said,"Give me the candy!" We don't even do trick or treat so we had to go out into the shop to get some candy (which wasn't chocolate so I think that is considered "bad candY! LOL) but the child didn't receive "the candy" until DH gave him a lecture. LOL You just don't pull that kind of stuff with DH.

yeah...some kid walked into our house too....Our neighbor and her daughters were inside and the doorbell rang and i opened it and a little 3 or 4 year old boy barged in!! her mom was like NO! STop!! so we had to let her in to take him out. poor lady!! she was so embaressed!!
