The Secret Of TDM?

Another theory I heard was that the pins are randomly programmed. With this theory, it makes no difference where u use it because it is predetermined. I guess VMK will never reveal the mystery.

thats meh other idea. they already have prizes inside them. its just where VMK puts where you have to walk over.

so like, i do the tiki room. I went in the same spot when i used my magic two times. and it worked. but i got different prizes.

I just continually walked around the Partners Statue.

Someone asked Fin to do treasure magic in her teleporter game room yesterday. She says, "sure" and stands up to do the magic. She walks over the same 3 or 4 spaces over and over...back and forth as if she was pacing. After a few seconds, -bling bling - money falls all around her.
Based on my first theory, she should have found that treasure the first time she walked over it, not the 7th or 8th. :confused3
I'm with tofubeast on this one..sticking to the good ol' fashioned Disney Magic theory.:wizard: It's more fun that way anyway.

Here is another theory. Let me give you an example of what I am thinking of. If you have alot of credits and very little magic, it may give you credits or a hat?

By walking over a single spot over and over? I tried that a few times, but the
lag right now won't let me do it efficiently.

not exactly, i usually just go to a specific area and wander around there, i probably get 5k credits about half the time.

While this may work for the one time use, It wouldn't be a usuable theory for the full use version. So, I'm thinking that it has to do with the spots you walk over.

I was in one of my friends room and a staff member just randomly came in the room. she was walking around while she was using it.

OK, here is my take on this. Two possibilities, both as likely as the other.

Theorum 1:
It is an algorithm, and it is location specific.

Lets say you have a room that is 3 squares by 3 squares (a 9 block grid)

the algorithm would read as follows:

Zone 1: no winner, ever
Zone 2: winner at specific time
Zone 3: no winner, ever
Zone 4: no winner, ever
Zone 5: winner at specific time
Zone 6: winner at specific time
Zone 7: no winner, ever
Zone 8: winner at specific time
Zone 9: no winner, ever

As for the spots which are winners, the algorithm would read as follows

time XX:XX:01 - wins Buried pin
Time XX:XX:02 - no winner
time XX:XX:03 - wins Tiki fountain
time XX:XX:04 - no winner
etc etc
there is probably a 10 minute space in the algorithm with 3/4 of the time being no winner, which means while using the pin, you can walk over the same "winning" spot several times and not win, but then walk over it again and win.
As for the not moving thing, I am sure you must be moving in order to register the "tick" on the spot. If you do not move, the spot is stuck on the non-winning tick. Like pushing a button each time to see if you are a winner, not moving does not push the button, at all, not even the first time.

I have consistently won on the same spots, which leads me to this conclusion.

Theorum 2:
The other possibility is that, each spot, runs a randomizer when you walk on it (it would take only a millisecond to run), like rolling a set of dice. The randomizer then has only 2 possible choice, win or not win, but not win outweighs win by a margin of, say, 5 to 1. So, you would have a 5 to 1 chance of winning each time you walked over a spot capable of giving you a win. Once you have won, it then runs a randomizer to see which prize you will win.
wow! can i get you to help me with my stats homework! lol jk

We've had the highest number of successes by walking up and bumping into a random player and then circling them. It has worked almost every time and we joke that we are pickpocketing them, or perhaps rubbing off a little of their good karma lol. Overall it seems like it is the moment that you put on the TD pin that determines the prize when you finally use it. We have put them onto multiple characters at the same instance and they then win the same prize.

I have had the most successes, for some reason maybe just luck, in the Main Street Magic Shop. I did all my mules and my siblings accounts in there and about 90% of the time we got something. It probably doesn't matter what room you are in, but anyways.

My theory is this: Each pin has a prize already in it. It's a matter of getting a pin with a prize in it rather than finding it. If your pin has a prize, it will go off at a random time.

But then, how do the full use pins work? I don't think that this would be how they work. :)

First I didnt buy that whole "you have to move theory". Well I did 4 in a row without moving and all were duds. So I think this might actually be true. I know its not enough to prove it for sure, but I am now a believer

Then I did try to do the same room to see if I could get the same results. I did not.

I thought I could get rid of both myths, but looks like the not moving one has some merit.

To add, hmm, maybe confusion, to your myth busting....

I have a friend in VMK that sits down on a specific bench while using TDM and has won several times. I don't know if you consider going up to a bench and sitting moving, but there you have it.

As for rooms -
Pick a room. Study it. Use it. Again and again and again and again.

Anyway, that's what I have to share.
