"The Secret" anyone read/seen it?

The book/movie was recommened to me. Has anyone read or seen the movie? I was told it has been on Oprah, Larry King, Ellen, etc.. Would like some reviews as to what anyone has to say about it. Thanks!

I haven't seen or read it yet, but I've heard wonderful things about it. There's a cool little shop up the road from me that's going to arrange a viewing of The Secret and then form a discussion group about it. I'll be sure to report back when I know more about it!

I have just heard such wonderfull things about it, but really didn't know what others had thought of it. It is a hard book to get here, and must be ordered. I think I will go ahead and order it.

I won't spend money on it...I can't see HOW reading a book can alter your entire existence...and I already have a REALLY positive outlook.

It has TOTALLY CHANGED MY LIFE.

All I can say is what my co-worker told me... watch it, take notes on it and live it.

Yes, please tell us. I can't comprehend it. I remember one of these books was out that had everyone talking and I tried to read it and all I could think was, "Are you serious? This is not earth shattering..."

I'll tell you my story.

My niece, who is NOT a Christian, told me about it. I refused to deal with it because I thought it left out God so I basically negated it before even giving it a chance.

I read some really disheartening things about it on the DIS so decided, no I don't need it.

Then my car broke down...

Basically beating myself up I sat down one day and watched it.

In it one of the precepts is to decide WHAT you want, get a picture of it and then believe you will get it.

I immediately walked out on my patio and took a picture of a BEAUTIFUL silver car in front of my building.

My son thought I had lost my mind....

I kept the picture in my office pinned on my wall. Everyone who came in my office I told them "that's my car!"

To make a LOOOOOOOONG story very short using the principal in the Secret my car is now sitting in front of my office.

It basically is the same process of letting go and letting God. Understanding that what you put out to the world (the law of attraction) is what you bring into your life. This has happened to me MANY times in my life before I knew what it was.

It's also a reminder of what you can do in your life to make it the way YOU want it.

Last night when I found out I may be losing my job would've been devastating to me a week ago. I know now that I have everything I need to make it work for me.

Is it possible that the circumstances involved in that long story are what enabled you to get the car?

Or did it just appear on your doorstep one day?

I guess I am cynical because if this secret is such a great thing, why not share it freely with the world? If you have to buy books, videos and other materials to be part of the secret, I think the secret is "how to trick people into buying a bunch of books and videos so I can make a boatload of cash."

And everything I've read about "the secret" tells me that it is EXACTLY what Norman Vincent Peale wrote decades ago, and which anyone can find, for free, in the library.

Just my own thoughts

To me there is nothing magical here. I know what I want, how to get it and do get it. I don't need to make others rich to be told what I already do.
