my memory is quite good enough to at least remember what I ate or drank.

are you suggesting that kimmars (and yourself?) has such poor memory that you CAN'T remember what you ate or drank on a "memorable" vacation?

If thats the case, perhaps a visit to a certain kind of doctor for an evaluation might be in order!

at any rate, that seems kind of a waste of my vacation time to "document" food and drink, when I am there to have fun and relax.

You must have missed that post of mine on the Old Fogies thread... I somehow managed to put one of DS's toys in the freezer and not notice it was in there for at least 6 months... I had to have been the one to put it in... DH isn't that dumb, and our freezer is on top of the fridge, so it didn't just grow legs and jump in... KWIM?
