We were up bright and early. The view from our room with the sun rising over the lake was gorgous! It had been overcast and a little rainy the other days, and it was so clear and beautiful this morning. We were all showered and packed and I did the TV check out which was very easy to do, but my Grandfather still wanted tostop at the registration building on the way out to get a copy of our bill. It was so strange seeing no room charge, like I skipped out on paying for the room or something. Also they had my address as being Celebration, Florida and I live in Rochester, NY. ANyway as we checked out at the registration desk, I vented my frustration with our room situation. Before we came to the Sagamore I called and spoke with DVC Guest Services and they had the Sagamore on the other line when I made my requests for my grandparents who do not ambulate well. When we checked in there was no evidence of my requests and that was extremely difficult to understand and deal with the situation, I mean we drove 5 hours to get there and then we were at their mercy. Anyway, the woman we spoke with appologized and gave me the VP's address so that I may write a letter, but that won't get me anywhere now. I can't get back the 84 points I used for the weekend (I had to use 3 extra points/night for an extra adult) and they aren't going to change their hotel layout for me. I may still forward a copy of these trip reports to them in hopes they understand what is being done well and not so well at their resort. Furthermore, I hope there reports help educate my fellow dis board members in their decisions about staying at the Sagamore.
All thay being said, we left and drove about 30 min to Saratoga Springs and had breakfast there. It is a really cute town and I wished we had stopped there on the way up because we stopped on a Sunday and almost everything was closed.
Breakfast was yummy and we got back on the road and got home around 3:30PM
