The Sad News Just Keeps Coming...

As some of you may remember, I posted earlier this week about the death of a former student. Well, this morning I got the news that one of our teachers has passed away. She was very young and has two small boys, kindergarten and 2nd grade. Elizabeth was diagnosed with luekemia about 3 weeks ago. Supposedly, it was the easiest type to treat. She was almost at the end of her chemo. My mom called me last night to say that she had developed septic poisoning. She passed away around 4:30 this morning. I have had to make some difficult phone calls to let coworkers know. I just can't believe this. Please keep her husband and boys in your thoughts and prayers.

this is sad news indeed. i wouldn't even want to imagine what it would be like to lose a parent at a very young age.
my prayers go out to this young family and friends.
my GOD bless them and give them comfort in these tring times.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. There is some question as to where the boys are right now. Our spring break just started and they were to go away with relatives for the break. I don't know if they ever left or were stopped before they left town. I do know that after she was diagnosed some weeks ago, she went straight to an Atlanta hospital without seeing the boys. She was worried she couldn't "hold it together" if she saw them. They had been emailing her, but I'm not sure she ever actually saw them. How sad not to be able to say goodbye. Elizabeth was so very kind to me when my husband was killed in a car accident. I thought so much of her. It is just so tragic. Her mother lives nearby, so that is good. The next few days and weeks will be very difficult. Thanks again for your thoughts.
