Edwardsburg man in serious condition after snowmobile wreck

ADAMSVILLE An Edwardsburg man is listed in serious condition at Memorial Hospital in South Bend after suffering injuries when the snowmobile he was driving in a plowed farm field hit a utility pole.
Cass County sheriffs deputies said Donald Hawkins, 53, was riding in a field near U.S. 12 between Starbrick and Cassopolis streets about 7 p.m. Sunday when he hit the pole.
Police said the accident threw Hawkins several feet from the sled. It is not known why he was riding a snowmobile in a plowed field.
The accident was in Mason Township east of Adamsville.
