I loved seeing Sharon Lokedi stopping her watch as she wins the Boston Marathon.

Why are we showing the announcers instead of the rest of the finish line! I want to see Des finish her last marathon!

This coverage is AWFUL. Who do we complain to???

The races were so great! Part of me wanted to see Hellen win again, but Sharon Lokedi has been right there so many times it was great to see her come in first. She also wins best interview comment, on how she was thinking about her HM split during the race: "Jesus, that's so fast!"

And then they asked her if she ever thought she was running too fast, and she said yes, all the time!

A very unproductive work morning for me watching the race lol. It was a good one this year!! I want to run Boston with a BQ under my belt so bad!!! It also seems so impossible to run a 3:05:00 or better at 41.

This is why I don’t watch marathon coverage much. US Tv has yet to figure it out. I had the channel on but had it muted.

Next time I might try the Citius Mag commentary instead - although since the real problem is what the cameras/videos are doing, I'm not sure how much that will help...

I understand they need to show commercials to make money, but can't they still show the race in the corner of the screen while the commercials are going? And they really need better producers to make sure that the current camera view is showing big moves on the course. They cut back to the men's field and Korir was out in front, I'm like when the heck did that happen??

AAAAAND get the banner updated showing the leaders!!! They had been talking about Korir's move to break from the pack and how big of a gap he was putting on them for 5+ minutes and the banner at the top still said Mantz was leading.

Have no fear, ESPN has locked up the contract to televise the race for the next few years.

I’ll have to check out the ESPN coverage to see the difference from WCVB. You can literally watch the marathon from start to finish today here in MA (like live coverage all day). It’s actually gotten really cold. If you were a back of the pack racer, it went from nice and cool to hot with no wind to now cloudy with a lot of wind.

What station is the all day coverage on? We're just north of you in VT and I'm only able to get NBC, which cut off at noon.

It’s the local ABC affiliate. I know WMUR is the New Hampshire version of WCVB. I think you can also stream on the app as I just check and the nowcast was still showing coverage. I’m sure NBC and CBS carried it as well, but the newscasters on ABC are my preferred team.

Thanks! We only get the NBC station on Xfinity, which I was able to watch, but all those other stations' streaming links went to the same ESPN feed. Their contract must cover streaming so that anyone outside the area sees only them, no matter which station they come in from.

PSA: We just received an update from Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, and I thought I'd pass it along in case anyone is still looking to register for the 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. They do still have bibs available: 9 for the 5K, 15 for the 10K, 12 for the half marathon, and one for the full marathon.

I was curious what the fundraising minimums are so I clicked the link. Those are actually way better than I was expecting lol. My only other experience has been fundraising for the Boston Marathon in 2013, which was $4,000. I think its close to $10,000 now. There is almost zero chance I could pull that off these days lol.
