The Running Thread --2025

I’m starting to look at next season’s race options and Springtime is now off the table. My parents are traveling that whole week and they’re my go-to cat sitters, and vice versa. The Honolulu 10k in December would be fun, and I’m also looking at RnR Vegas in February, especially if I’m “meh” on the Princess themes. I’ve done Princess three years in a row and may be getting burnt out a little on that weekend.

I am familiar with it. I've been a little leery about purchasing used shoes, not knowing how many miles they have one them. But if they are just ones that were returned and are still in new condition, maybe I'll keep a closer eye on it.
I've purchased a few pairs, and they didn't even have dirt on the soles. I suspect they may have been back stock. They do give a condition in the description on the site, so you have some idea of what you're getting.

Been busy and didn't link here to my race report for the Amasa 25k Trail Race last weekend: https://www.disboards.com/threads/a...c-2018-comments-welcome.3725621/post-66094963 This is pretty much as non-Disney race as you can get, although it was pretty! Also really, really hard. It was a short 25k (only 14.5 mi) but as much as 3300 ft of elevation gain in the Utah desert on a rocky, technical course. It took me almost 4:48 to finish, as the hills and altitude really zapped me. Lots of beautiful photos, though - hey, I guess that's like a Dis race!

I bought a pair of Hyperion from Brooks through their Restart program and they were practically new minus a few sole creases. They were marked as "Great" when purchased.

Same for Onward, I really like their shoes for casual wear and I got $75 off the retail price and they arrived pretty much brand new. Onward also carries a lot of clothing and I personally think that is where they shine. Cold weather gear can be expensive! I grab tights, pullovers and windbreakers at really good deals. Just gotta be a little bit vigilant and check the site every week or so for new items.

Definitely watching while I work this morning. My BQ attempt is in 2 weeks, and I didn't realize next year was going to be the 130th. I was hoping to not need much of a buffer below the qualifying time since they just dropped it, but now I'm wondering with it being a nice round number anniversary if it will draw more registration attempts. Blargh.
