Sunday check-in on my fellow sickies! I haven't run since my aborted run on Tuesday. One thing that I love/hate about wearing a Garmin watch all the time is that it gives me information about my illness that I wouldn't otherwise have, for better or worse. My watch always seems to know when I'm sick, before I do: the "stress" measurement usually shoots up for a day at the beginning of an illness for me. This time, it stayed elevated (as well as my resting HR) for the rest of the week. Yesterday was the first day my resting HR dropped back into the 40's and my "stress" measurement went back into the 20s. On the one hand, I feel like I would have subjectively felt like I was getting better, earlier in the week, but I was compulsively checking my HR and it kind of freaked me out that it stayed so high (for me). On the other hand, I probably would have tried to jump back into training too early if I hadn't had that HR info.
In any case, if my HR stays low today, I'm hoping to ease back into the training plan tomorrow. This was a rough one.
How is everybody else doing?
