ATTQOTD: I have a c9 jacket from Target that I wear when the temps dip below 25 degrees. It's fleece lined with a somewhat water resistant outside (good for snow, but not rain), and it has zippered pockets. I also like that it doesn't have thumbholes, which I find to be annoying.
My jacket is this brand as well. I don't wear it unless it is REALLY cold. I also have a lightweight running jacket from Brooks that I wear in the rain.
QOTD: Does it bother you if someone calls you a jogger (or reference running as jogging)?
I've never had anyone call me that. As long as they said it in a non-snarky tone, I don't think I'd care.
Bonus QOTD (BQOTD): What is the worse thing a coach or similar type role has said to you?
I have never had a coach. I don't remember anything specific, but I used to get in trouble in PE for walking when I was supposed to be running. Ironic now, considering that's a totally reasonable training method and the only one I use now.
It's just that I hear "jogger" and this is what comes to mind;
Haha! Me too! Does anyone really use the word "jog" any more?
The first time I walked into one of my local stores and mentioned I was interested in trying on shoes the clerk said very loudly " you don't look like a runner"...
That is horrible! I have never been into a running store where the people were not 100% helpful and supportive.
THIS! I'm excited to do this too. Just a little gesture to brighten someone's day. Plus even if they don't drink coffee, there other things at Starbucks. I just discovered the snickerdoodle white chocolate hot chocolate. YUM!
FOR REAL.
I was getting my volunteer shirt for my Expo/Packet Pick-Up shift and I told the gentleman handing out shirts what size I wanted. His response - "Are you sure? You must like your shirts real tight!" WTFEver, dude.
Wow. What is wrong with these people?!
QOTD: Do you track steps? If so what do you do with that information? Do you have a goal?
I do. I have a Fitbit and my goal is set at 10,000. I don't always make it, but I keep it set that way.
Yes, only because my health insurance is cheaper if I do. Currently I need 100,000 steps per month but it's going up to 150,000 per month in 2017. Very easy to achieve for a runner.
EDIT: I use the built-in step tracking on my iPhone (via the Health app) and that dumps my steps into the FitBit app, which syncs with my employee health website...whew!
I wish I had this kind of opportunity!
ATTQOTD: I do wear a fitbit, but am losing my interest in step counting as I run more. It is really scary how sedentary I can be at work though. I wish my fitbit would nudge me every hour to get up and walk around.
I am scheduled to run 8 miles this weekend (my longest ever!), but the HIGH on Saturday is -1F. I love my treadmill, but even I am a little nervous about running that long on the 'mill.
My Fitbit actually does. If I don't get 250 steps per hour, it buzzes. I am very sedentary at work too, so it's really helpful!
QOTD: What is the longest and shortest recorded run that you have done? (0 does not count)
I'm not sure what the shortest is. Maybe a mile? The longest was 14.5 miles, which was a training run for the 2014 Princess Half.
QOTD: With Christmas this weekend and the new year the following weekend, what do you plan to do to get your runs in during this busy time of year?
I'm trying really hard. My hotel has a gym with a treadmill, so I'm just trying my best to make it happen.
