I never had problems with chafing until I started lifting. Then my thighs got thicker and they started rubbing when I run. If I stop lifting for a few months, the problem disappears. However, that hurts my running. So my solution is compression shorts. I wear them on every run because my problem begins immediately. No more chafing.QOTD: What tips do you have for chaffing? What stories? When running distance, what has rubbed you raw... especially things you did not expect.
My worst chafing incident come on a 20 mile weekend long run. My compression shorts separated at the seam in my groin area about 5 miles into the run and I ran the remaining 15 miles while my thighs not only made contact, but with the material of the compression shorts "wadded" up in places where it had torn. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home and my wife pointed out the blood stains down both of my legs. The shower was agonizing. Lost lots of skin and took weeks to heal.

Someone asked about recovery yoga a couple pages ago and Runner's World has a yoga page with several routines. I like their essential yoga as well as their recovery yoga routines.
