Wonder if the 50th will start over the summer or in Oct?

I'd expect it to start in the early summer of 2021. IIRC, one of the more recent milestone anniversaries ran for ~15 months.

Well if Disney still thinks they can still open Mulan on July 24, that they think WDW will be open before that. I don’t se any scenario where movie theaters are open before the WDW parks.

The two are not linked. One could obviously open before the other. Actually -- movie theaters are already allowed to be open in a number of states, it's just that the big chains are choosing not to (for a variety of reasons, including no new movies releasing yet). For example, movie theaters have been allowed to reopen since April 27th in Georgia.

Is WDW even allowed to reopen right now under the current Florida restrictions? Or do more need to be eased for that to happen?

Also, crowds in a movie theater are different than crowds in a huge theme park. Two very different considerations. And MUCH more potential liability at a theme park.

Anyway -- the first movie expected to be back in an actual theater is "Unhinged" on July 1st. Let's see if that actually happens, as well as see when WDW decides to announce a reopening date.

Today (5/21) is the day that the major parks (WDW, Universal, Sea World) can file their plan for reopening with the County. Once the County reviews and approves the plan, then they can open.
