The Rosebowl parade

We haven't watched the Macy's parade in years. It's all about the Broadway shows and celebrities and they grudgingly throw in some footage of the bands. The Rose parade is a parade we love to watch.

I can't believe it but we missed it completely this year! We slept in until 10:30ish, then I just forgot about it until sometime in the afternoon. Dh said that he had remembered earlier and had looked for it on TV but couldn't find it.

Can't wait to tell him it was on 3 channels and he couldn't find it!

I completely forgot about it too. I am still kicking myself. From now on I am going to just DVR everything that I don't want to miss right when I think of it. I am getting too forgetful.

Who was that woman commentator? She did not make herself look too intelligent! Why they cut away from our band - how rude to the kids.

It was a lot of fun and i am so proud of all of the high school
bands that worked so hard to get here.

I gotta tell ya that I was laying in bed and when your kids came on the screen, I yelled and clapped because I knew it HAD to be your kids!!! My husband has stopped being suprised at how the DIS seems to be a part of every aspect of life, lol!!! Anyway, I was thrilled to see them; I know it could not have been easy.

They marched in California Adventure and boy was it cold. We went over to Magic Kingdom later in the evening and a couple of the walkup food places ran out of food. The fireworks were also canceled due to the winds. I guess it has been unseasonably cold in California. Yesterday with the winds, it was actually as cold at Universal Studios as it was in my hometown in PA. I really was looking forward to some warm California weather, but I guess I will have to wait until my next visit.

Yes, this has been a cold, rainy winter by CA standards. We've been hearing that despite that, the crowds at Disneyland have been so extreme that they've stopped selling tickets some days.

That was Stephanie Edwards, the regular commentator along with Bob Eubanks on the local KTLA broadcast of the parade, which apparently was picked up by Hallmark. Unfortunately this year she had a cold/laryngitis so wasn't her usual bright chipper self.
