The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone

Ok guys, I LOOOVE Tennesse Williams but this is one play of his I did not read. I watched the movie last night on showtime....but I didn't understand the end. Did Mrs. Stone let the vagrant into her apartment to kill her or seduce her?

LOL....it is about an older american actress that goes to Italy and her husband dies suddenly....she stays and has an affair with a hubba, hubba cutie male prostitute. His female pimp (Ann Brancroft) is evil and so is he. The American woman ends up emotionally bombed and lets a perverted homeless guy in her apartment at the end.......

It never shows WHAT happens!!!!! UGH!!!!!! I want to know!!!

Nah...I will hold out for what really happens. These types of movies really piss me off!!!!! I think he kills her...but I can't be certain.

Here is an opinion for you.

I was intrigued by the stranger at the end and although everyone else believes it was Karen Stone's "death wish" to submit to this stranger, or whatever, and that she will probably die at the hands of this stranger, I have to disagree. I perceived the ending differently. I feel Karen Stone ends up with this person because she wanted to be wanted. This guy obviously did want her. He had been virtually stalking her throughout the film. He had even shown that he was sexually aroused by her. She saw that in him and just wanted someone to want her and make her feel like a woman again. Yes, it is dangerous, yes it is naughty, but she was going to be wanted again. That's it.

I wonder if Tennessee Williams had an "ending to it" or did it end this way. If he didn't I think he meant for her to die...because the el' *****ha that she was shacking up with told her...." I am going to read about you being murdered". I think he murdered her.
