Welcome to my bedtime story! We will laugh, cry, scream, shout and who knows whatever else. There will be happy parts and not so happy parts but this is my story (......and I'm stickin' to it!) ;)

Let me introduce the characters....and I mean "characters!":lmao:

Me~ I am the "offical" disney fiend, also mother of two girls, ages 8 and 11, I am a RN on a Med/Surg floor at my local county hospital.

DD11 - Em...she is my bookworm, has read the "Hunger Games" trilogy in two months, straight A student and has told me that she wants to be a pastry chef at Disney when she grows up! :mickeybar

DD8 - MJ...oh boy, where do I start with her? :goodvibes She is my bundle of non-stop energy. plays soccer and wants to do t-ball in the spring. she will probably do track or cross-country running in high school:jumping1: She' not the avid reader but still is a good student.....just kind of gets in troulbe for talking :chat:

Last but not Least:

DH-age 35, currently dealing with Stage 3 lung cancer. :(

This is where the roller coaster starts!

This past winter DH dealt with Sinus infections off and on :confused3, we had been to the Dr numerous time. In April, he ended up with Pnuemonia, so he was on meds to treat that, well he felt good for a couple of weeks and started feeling bad again......:moped:, back to the Dr we go

Still pnuemonia....more antibiotics :confused3

Of course, me being a nurse, I am a little confused on why the pnuemonia had not cleared after the first round of meds..:confused3

Meanwhile, DH and I are planning a Disney Cruise on the Dream in this upcoming October. :beach:

No kiddos, just him and me chilling in Serenity Bay with an umbrella drink in each hand ::yes::

Jump ahead to early June....:drive:

DH wakes me up in the middle of the night telling me that he is coughing up blood
So off the hosptial we go :drive:

To make a long story short and after many tests, my DH was diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer.

Our world has turned upside down..........:earseek:

Well needless to say our adults only cruise is out of the question as treatments will be ending just a few weeks before the cruise. :worried:

Or was it?? :confused3

On the day I was to call Disney to cancel our trip, I had a revelation :scratchin

Let's postpone and take a family cruise ::yes:: So I talked to my wonderful Disney Cruise rep and explained what was happening and why we need to change the cruise. Of course, she was more then helpful and the new cruise is set for

June 6, 2013 Three-day cruise on the Dream, followed by a four day/three night trip to WDW at the Art of Animation resort (Little Mermaid). Since we had the first cruise almost completly paid off, the majority of this new trip is the land excursion.

While I am excited by the trip next June, the majority of my thoughts are my husbands upcoming treatments which will start in about two weeks.

I know that some of you know someone who has had cancer and even some of you have it cancer yourself. It is sometime hard to plan the future because you become afraid of the future and what it may or may not hold, that is what has affected me the most.....the unforesee-able future.

However, I also refuse to let it take over our lives, so planning a Disney vacation it is!! pixiedust:

I am so sorry your family is going through cancer treatments. I have always wanted to do a Disney cruise! I am a neuro interventional specialist...pretty close to an RN!

My thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery to your husband!
