Amanda got a job .

She will be an Analyst at CTS (Computer Technology Solutions). She will be starting on May 12th so she definitely will not be able to go to Disney with us this year. I had so hoped it would work out that she and Tyler would go. I am super excited that she has a job, so maybe she will go with us next year .

Thank you Lisa. I told her and she said Thank you. The job is here in Mobile. It is actually in the University's complex, but it is not a University owned business. I have been praying she would find a job here and not have to move .

I thank you and Amanda thanks you . I was thinking the same thing about my Mom Mary, she took care of my kids when they were little, so I feel she had a HUGE hand in Amanda's success .

I am excited about our trip, and I can't believe we are less than 3 weeks from going .

I haven't been a very good Diser this weekend. We decided to ride down to the coast and get pictures of the beaches while they were still beautiful. Dale and I headed to the coast because I wanted to make sure we had pictures of the beauty of the Gulf. I took lots of pictures so you may get tired before I'm through. I took some in color and some in black and white. I really like black and white photos.

We drove on over to Pensacola, and along Pensacola bay I see this

If you look in the background you can see the orange boom they have deployed to try and stop the oil .

We get to Pensacola Beach and these flags are flying

Of course we had no intention of swimming, I just wanted to get some pictures of the Gulf.

More Pictures

I know ya'll are tired of the beach pictures by now. I hope and pray that it will not be the last time I get to see the Gulf in it's pristine condition. The water was very rough, as if it was angry about what was happening.

Dale and I got back in the car and drove on, we decided to head to Panama City so we could eat at Margaritaville.

I will continue with this post in the morrow as it is storming here and my power keeps flickering in and out. We did have a great weekend, but it all seems kinda sad that it may be years before we get to see the Gulf in all its glory.

I will be doing everything I can to help with the clean up and recovery of the Gulf Coast.

Did you take those with your new camera? What kind of camera did you get again? It takes beautiful pictures with great detail! You really have an eye for photography!

I was looking through all those pictures, thinking to myself, "how rough the water looks." Then I read to the end and you said, "It's almost like the water is angry with what's happened." WELL SAID !

I pray that they are able to cap this pump off soon, and that it will quit spewing oil into the Gulf.

We are safe from the flooding but some areas around here were not so lucky. It was so good to see the sun out yesterday!!

Beautiful pictures Dana. I thought about you this weekend because John's brother and sister came through your area. My niece moved to Pensacola this weekend. I heard on the radio this morning that they expected the oil to reach the Louisiana and Mississippi coastline today. How very sad!

Hi! I'm super late to this party, but I've seen you around on several others' PTRs & the big May meet thread so I thought I'd pop over when I noticed you had a PTR! I just read your last post with the pictures from Pensacola. They are beautiful! It's an awful tragedy in the Gulf. I just hate it... I'm glad you were able to run down there and get some great pictures, though.

I did take them with my new camera. It is a Canon Rebel XS and I love it. Dale makes fun of me for taking so many pictures, but I don't care . It does take great pictures. I would love to be a photographer; one day I am going to take a class.
