The Remy Thread-Chefs de France (schedule in 1st post)

Hope he doesn't take holidays off. I just made a 12:30 ressie for Memorial Day just so we can see Remy!:goodvibes

As long as it's not a Sunday. He takes Sundays off. Memorial Day is a Monday so if he's still around then you will be fine.

I haven't seen anything about him being discontinued lately. The last word from Disney is still "indefinitely"

Does anyone know when Remy is at Chef La France. I don't know whether to make a lunch or dinner reservation. Has anyone seen him there?? Thanks :confused:

We went for dinner at Chef La France last year and got a chance to see him. A waiter wheels him around on a cart and goes to each table -it's fun! I do not know if he's out at lunch as well. To be honest, the meal is not as good as the show.:surfweb:

We (DS and I) saw him at lunch last May. Absolutely adorable! Made DS's day. We were very happy with our food too, but I think it may just depend on what you order.

He is currently at Chefs de France, but there's no definite information about how long he might stay. He does not appear on Sundays, or after 6 PM. Book lunch or an early dinner.

I had a noon lunch at Chefs de France on December 4th or 5th and Remy appeared about 12:30. So cute.

We saw Remy this past summer with a lunch ADR. It turned out to be less exciting for my 8yo nephew than I hoped. I wasn't thrilled with the meal either. He loved the show outside (guys with table, chairs and wine bottles).

I say that to say, book this meal if you want, but don't stress too much if you can't fit it in or get the ADR, we just weren't wowed. I would have been better off simply booking a character meal for him, but at least now I know.

I have to tell you that when I went to Chef's in August with DH and DD it was the BEST meal that we had in WDW. The service was so fantastic that I had to make a comment to the manager when we left. My DD7 thought Remy was awsome too. I highly recomend this resturant as one of my fav places to eat in WDW.

For those who wonder, Remy is not a full size "character suit" but a rat-size animatronic. He's brought around on a table by a "maitre 'd" (actually a comic actor). He does interact with the diners, but he does not speak - he squeaks. His handler can translate for him. Remy's time at each table is pretty brief and then he moves on, so if you're looking for characters that can spend time at the table, hug, speak or sign autographs, you'd be better off booking a regular character meal.

I'll be dining there the end of next month so I'll be sure to report back! (he'd better be there!) :rolleyes1

We had dinner on December 14 & on Dec 13 we asked at the restaurant if he would be there during our time, and she assured us he would. When we got there, we asked again, and the hostess said yes, he'd be there until 6:30. When we were seated, we double checked & she said he'd be there soon. We had our order taken, still nothing, so we asked the waiter. He seemed surprised that he hadn't shown up yet, so he said he would go check. He came back and said yes, he'd be there soon. Well, the whole meal came & went without Remy. As it was, we were there for 2 hours (just my mom & I, our server was horribly slow. He kept appologizing since he said he just got in the country 2 weeks ago) & my mom's meal was so bad our waiter took it off the bill (my mom didn't complain about it, so we were surprised, but it didn't matter since we were on the dining plan, anyway.) When we left, my mom asked at the desk about why Remy never came to our table. First they just shrugged, they he said he wasn't working.

Now, I understand that sometimes things happen. But it would have been nice if any of the 3 times we asked about Remy, we would have been told there was a problem & he wouldn't have been coming out. Then I would have stopped worrying about it & just enjoyed the meal. Instead, I was just anticipating it, and then bummed about him not showing up. So, ultimately, I didn't enjoy our dinner there.

Just a heads up for anyone hoping to see him, there's a possibility you won't, even if you are there at the right time. The guy when we left said that he's always there for lunch & asked if we wanted to come back the next day (we couldn't, we had plans.)

Remy's animatronic - he does break down sometimes. If he does, he won't be out until they get him repaired, because there is only one of him. (That can happen at lunch, too)

I just made a reservation for dinner for April and was told by the CM that Remy would be appearing for dinner on the hour beginning at 4pm.

I rearranged my EPCOT and MK days and wasn't able to get Le Cellier at the time I'd like so I chose Chefs de France. Has anyone been to dinner(5pm) lately and seen him? Also how is the food? I believe when I chose Le Cellier a few months back Chefs had been getting some negative reviews.
Thanks

We had a great meal at Chef's on 12/30. We had a 5:20 ADR and were not seated until 5:45 pm. After we already had a our appy Remy came out so it had to be around 6:20 or so. He was sooo cute too!!

We're branching out from our usual character meals and trying Chefs de France next time but was wondering---does Remy show up during lunch there or does he only come by for dinner---or is he not a guarantee for either meal? TIA~:earboy2:
