The Rebel Forces Were Strong But The Smith's Are Stronger TR-7/20 FINAL THOUGHTS

just wanted to stop in and tell you that it was a good thing it was not 2007. i had the mother of the year award on easter week that year, and yes it was also a meltdown about leaving the line ( backlot tour) to use the potty. not very pretty i tell you. not pretty at all. i swear they should have a time out room for adults where they serve grand marnier slushies, then i would never have a meltdown;)

I was following on FB but don't remember. What was it?

 So sorry you had a low moment, but secretly glad I'm not the only mom who has them! :rotfl2:

See, my first visit to WDW was Memorial Day weekend, and I think that's why it took so long for me to go back. It was NOT a magical experience!

Posting the pic of my breakfast in a few...it was on my phone

Those crowds look and sound crazy!! :scared1:

You went over Memorial Day weekend, right?? I went last year and I don't remember it being that crazy. :confused3

Yes it was Memorial Day. I think you had a lot of rain last Memorial Day didn't you??? Maybe the weather brought more locals????

What kid wants to wait for RD??:lmao: Its natural. At least they were all refreshed though.:thumbsup2 I had that same problem last time but with my niece and we had just got in line for Soarin' Well, I sure learned my lesson. Tell them to go potty before you get in long lines! :)

Well that was part of my meltdown. When we got off of POTC, we offered a bathroom break. Before we got into the line, we offered a bathroom break. Someone didn't take me up on it ;)

I would LIVE in there!

Let's all have one shall we???

I'm loving your ride pictures! :lmao: And I completely agree about Space Mountain! I thought it was just me but maybe it really is rougher now. :confused3 All I know is I bounced around so much that I walked off with a horrible headache!

Your TR is definitely teaching me never to go to Disney over Memorial Day!

YIKES!!! Seeing those crowds remind me of the very first trip we took and went during Thanksgiving week. I didn't realize, being Canadian, that it was your Thanksgiving week and would be crowd crazy. I was one of those people who thought I would never go back, but I loved it so much I just planned better next trip:lmao:

Oh it's definitely WAAAAY bouncier. I've been riding SM since I was a fetus! Definitely never that bumpy. I will never take my camera on it again. I was terrified.

Thanksgiving week???? OH NO! Will never ever ever do Thanksgiving week. (As much as i would love to because I could do a week over the school year and only miss 2 days of school/work)

here is my breakfast of champions!!! (Cream cheese pretzel and frozen coke for the untrained eye!

Cooper (and I) LOVE those pretzels. I can't wait to get another one in a few months.

Well look who found your TR! And I'm all caught up!!! Ok, I am LOVING all the clothes, esp Aisling's dresses! Soooo pretty! The crowds are looking pretty rough. Y'all were some troopers! But I know it was all worth it. The crowds were much higher than we're used to on our March trip but we still had a blast. How fun to meet up with so many friends. I would love to do that one day! I am loving everything and can't wait to hear more!!!!!!!

PS- I am subbing this time. Duh.....

I'm finally all caught up!

The heat was ridiculous last week too but we didn't see as much of the crowds as you did. I'm never going back in June!

I tried that cream cheese pretzel and I didn't like it. This coming from a person who slathers her bagel with as much cream cheese as possible! :rotfl:

I love all the PP SW pics! So adorable!

Welcome back!!!!!! I was so happy to meet up with my DIS friends. Randy had gotten to the point that he no longer thinks it's weird :rotfl2:

I can't believe you're back already!!! Did your stepson love it????

DIDN'T LIKE THE CREAM CHEESE PRETZEL???? :scared1:

Sorry for the delay...4th of July hoopla and my BFF is "home" from CA so lots of girl time!!!

Anyway, we left MK and headed back to the hotel for a little rest time. We had a LATE night plannd. MK was open til 3am (and if you recall...we had been at rope drop 3 days in a row).

Naps done it was time to get our Hula on because we were heading for O'Hana!!!!

003.jpg

006.jpg

We took the bus to MK and decided to take the boat to Poly (we had a little time to kill). I had never taken that boat before so I was excited. Along the ride, Randy and I plotted our 10 year anniversary trip (not til Sept 2012 so we have awhile to plan!) We want to do an adult only trip to F&W. And if you are going adult only for your 10th anniversary...there is only one place to stay

008.jpg

OR IS THERE?????

As we continued on to Poly, I noticed the beach. Since we had never taken the boat, I had never seen the beach side of Poly. Now Poly has always invoked a certain Brady Bunch vibe to me

Know what I mean????

024.jpg

But then I saw the beach and realized THIS is why people stay at the Poly. It's gorgeous. It doesn't look like Central Florida! So now both hotels are in the running for the adult only trip.

Now I should let you know that it's always been the deal that I got a new engagement ring on our 10th anniversary. The diamond in my ring is the diamond Randy's dad gave his mom. And while the romantic in me loves the significance of it...the girl in me wants a bigger rock ;) But I figure if i want GF/Poly MK view, I either have to get a gig as a Disney Travel Agent so I can get some sort of discount or give up the ring dream. My 40th bday and our 15th anniversary is the same year...maybe I should aim for that! (BTW, before you think I'm a jerk, the current diamond will be used in the new ring- I plan to get a 3 stone ring)

Enough about rings... onto the Poly

007.jpg

We went in and still had a little time to kill so we looked around downstairs and took some pics of the kids. I have to say that the little store with the spray painted fish put GF back in the lead though!

Finally I figured it was safe to check in. I headed over with Ash while Randy, Stacy, and the boys watched the Caricature artist. The line was NUTS. It went all the way back to Kona. Problem was that it was a lot of people just trying to walk up. Our ADR was at 7. They were telling people a 2 1/2 hour wait and people were STAYING. This one couple had a baby that was about 18 months old. I kept thinking...really, you are going to sit down to eat at 9:30 with that baby???

While i was in line, the woman in front of me was overly excited about something. She was telling the people with her about it. Then she turned to me and said "DO you KNOW who's over there???" Um nope. "Aaron Kelly...he just came out of the bathroom" Aaron Kelly, Aaron Kelly??? Where had I heard that name before :confused3 Luckily she added "does your daughter like American Idol?" Oh AI! That Aaron Kelly. Wasn't he the kid that went on from DHS auditions??? Anyway, we checked in and Aaron Kelly was still standing by the bathroom so we went over to say hi. Just as we walked over, a CM from O'Hana tried grabbing him to bring him to his table (turns out that he was just there for dinner with his family/gf and all these teenyboppers were swarming him for pics). However, he saw Ash and asked if she wanted a pic too!

Here is the best part....Aisling doesn't watch AI. NO CLUE who he was. But she knew he was famous and that was good enough for her! She walked up awe-struck and said "Hi Mr. American Idol" :rotfl2: It was hilarous!

013.jpg

Anyway, Aaron finally got seated and I rejoined my crew. We were very excited to share who Aisling got to meet. In the meantime, I googled him to find out how he did on Idol! ;) The kids were so bored that they started thinking about ordering booze!

IMG00120.jpg

Randy decided to head to the bar and get a drink (or 2). I just commented to Stacy that it was weird that they didn't have the drink servers in the lobby this time when one came over. I decided to wait until dinner though.

Finally we got seated. Aisling got up to do the activities...the boys were less interested. Oddly, they never did coconut races.

These guys seriously have an AWFUL job. I don't know how they don't melt

019.jpg

To avoid me melting, I did what anyone would do. I ordered a Lapu Lapu. Important to note that there are NOT on the menu anymore but they certainly make them

020.jpg

Dinner was good as usual. For $130 for 3 people...it better be! Have I mentioned that I will never travel without DDP again???

Aisling however, only had eyes for the chicken wings. Her face was so funny we let her keep eating them!

A major clean up (can you believe those linen shirts/dress made it through that dinner) and we were off to MK...but how long would we last????????

:faint::faint::faint::faint::faint:

I don't know if I can meet you in September anymore. ;):lmao::rotfl2:

Great Update!! Aisling seems like such a character. Hello Mr. American Idol. :lmao:

Those wings look great but I would never eat them because I'd end up having a messy face like Ash. :rotfl2:

I finally made it here, and I am only on page 6, and trying to catch up. I didn't realize that this was the first time that you met Stacy's boys. For some reason, I thought that you had met them last year.

I can't believe that you made it to rope drop at DHS after getting in so late! Love the dress that Stacy made for Aisling! Great custom for SWW!!

Love the update.

Ok, so do you want my opinion about and adult trip and F&W? You just can't go wrong with Beach Club. This place is AMAZING and it's withing walking distance from the world showcase which comes in handy after a long night tasting lots of wine:rotfl: Seriously though, we've done a few grown up trips for F&W and we always stay there. Plus, you just cannot beat that pool!!!! I could live there! I do want to stay at the Poly one day for sure but as for F&W, we heart BC!!! Anyway, that's my two cents:)

I LOVE Ash's dress!!!!!!! I think I may have to copy that design. We are eating at Ohana for the first time in December. I cannot wait!!!!

Can't wait to hear if y'all made it to 3am:scared1:

I met Stacy last year but none of the kids were with us. We left them at home for the DISmeet!

Stacy is the best!!!!! Aisling is spoiled rotten! And she's gotten to wear all the creations to camp this year too! Today was Fantasy Day so she wore the SW dress!

Love the update.

Well BC would depend if we get in there before that ;) Wishful thinking I know :cloud9: I would like to be in walking distance of WS for F&W. Wonder how hard it is to get into the regular rooms????

Oh you are going to love O'Hana (as long as you like meat...poor Stacy doesn't eat meat and went along with it anyway!). Food is good, entertainment is fun.

Didn't Stacy do an amazing job on the dress??? Too bad your DD wasn't a little bigger...sadly that dress is NOT going to fit on our next trip :sad1:
