The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

Being from New Orleans, I love the look of POFQ and while POR is pretty, it is more "life along the Mississippi" look and I stayed there once and got lost b/c all the buildings looked alike:rotfl: but maybe I mentioned this here(sorry!) BUT it was a nice place to stay. I got off at POFQ by accident(yeah!) and thought it was gorgeous!

Love the pics!

Lori

great update adn pics.

I loved my walk between the resorts it was so peaceful.

Can't wait to hear about Marrakesh

Just found your Trip report and looking forward to reading it. I was looking for a good book to read today and I think I have found a good trip report instead. I am only on page 2.

I am a retired middle school teacher of math(29 years). A 1 1/2 years of sick leave really help at the end. I found every day an adventure in the classroom. I miss teaching somedays so I help out in the media center of my old school. May you continue to enjoy the adventures of a middle school teacher.

Now I enjoy going to Disney during the off season. For now I have a trip report to read an catch up on before you finish.:surfweb:

What beautiful pictures---everytime I think I've stayed at a pretty WDW resort, I see pics of another one and find it just as beautiful!! What a nice walk the two of you must have had!! Looking forward to more! Jen

Jackie, your tr is really great. And I'm amazed at how you remembered the little details. I know you made journals. Did you and the kids use them? I'm thinking of bringing a journal, but want to make sure I actually write in it.

POFQ has such a wonderfully peaceful feel to it -- just perfect for morning strolls.

This last one is my fav. When I next get the chance to stay at a Moderate (LapuLapu Fest 2009, perhaps???) I think this may be the first I try.

We stayed at Riverside last year, and DH would love to try to French Quarter. After your photos, I may be convinced.

Can't wait for the next installment.

Amen to that, sister!

I guess that's why I live in Georgia as opposed to Montana.

There was no way I was having him predisposed to thinking he was going to have a bad day at Epcot. :sad2:

Such a cute picture. I love her tank top.

Target!!! That blue is actually her favorite color -- she buys lots of things in that color.

:All those pictures really make me want to stay at POFQ. It was in the running for this trip. :goodvibes

It was our second time there and really, it is our favorite moderate!!!

I've never been super in love with PO, just isn't my thing, but wow, your pics are gorgeous! Thanks!

Thanks! Disney does such a wonderful job of theming all of their resorts -- they are all so neat to me!

We stayed at PORiverside in June 2006, and really loved the resort. I love the magnolia blossom trees!!!

Me too! We stayed at Riverside in 2004 and POFQ in 2007 and 2008 -- it's such a gorgeous place!

Ahhh....POFQ....:cloud9:

Your pictures make me wish I was there.

Yah for the leisurely breakfast and stroll!

Yah for the boys watching cartoons!

I sense some flexibility here, Jackie!;)

Just a teeny tiny bit! I was trying to keep everyone (Charles) happy :rotfl: .

I wish I was there right now having beignets before a day at one of the parks. Sigh.

great picyures-especially the one of Chelsea:goodvibes
The walk made for a nice mother-daughter memory:thumbsup2

It was a nice mother-daughter moment -- we had a few of them this trip -- mainly around the resort.

Great update!!!!

I love reading about the resorts from different perspectives. The photos of POFQ are amazing. It looks so peaceful and relaxing. And the buildings are beautiful. And how great that each of your children got some alone time with either you or Charles.

I can't wait to hear your reviews of Marrakesh and Teppan Edo.

Thanks!!! I can gush about POFQ all day long!!!

Here's a teaser: one we won't go back to and the other one could be a staple of every trip!

gorgeous pics! I am so hyped for POR!

You'll love it!!! :goodvibes

I just loved POFQ in March and your pics are why. It is truly a relaxing, peaceful and charming resort. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Allyson :)

We would, too, although we would like to try CBR and all the other deluxes first! :rotfl:

So beautiful. You could easily forget that you're in WDW! Looks like fun mom/daughter time!

We did have a fun time walking and chatting. Chelsea took bunches of pictures with her camera, also.

What a great report! I just read the whole thing! Can't wait for the next installment. :)

Welcome!!! Thanks so much for reading!!! The next installment is later today. :goodvibes

I love those pics. I need to find a reason to get over there and explore the PO Resorts. We got married 10 years ago in New Orleans and it's so nostalgic to us!

One of the neat things about POFQ is that the music playing is all jazzy and New Orleans sounding, so you can really pretend you are in the Big Easy!

Great photos, Jackie!

The ones of Chelsea are so good! Sounds like such a nice, peaceful morning...:cloud9:

Thank you! It was a nice relaxing way to start our day since I planned on keeping them all at Epcot as long as possible!

Those are lovely photos! Hurray for slow mornings with time for relaxation. :goodvibes

Thank you. Yes, but I only need one or two relaxing mornings per trip -- I can relax at home. ;)

Lori

Thank you! I had the tendency to get turned all around at POR when we stayed there in 2004. It was sooo big -- one of the reasons we love POFQ is how small it is -- everywhere is an easy walk!

great update adn pics.

I loved my walk between the resorts it was so peaceful.

Can't wait to hear about Marrakesh

Thank you! Oh, I have lots to say about Marrakesh. ;)

I love all the pictures from the resort!

Thank you. I can look at photos of all the different resorts all day long, so I wanted to make sure I got lots this time to share.

Just found your Trip report and looking forward to reading it. I was looking for a good book to read today and I think I have found a good trip report instead. I am only on page 2.

Welcome and thank you so much!!! I adore being a middle school teacher, although, I will admit that I look forward to traveling to Disney in the off-season when I have retired.

What pretty pictures! Everything looks so beautiful!

Thank you! POFQ is very pretty! And shady which is a plus in the summer!

What beautiful pictures---everytime I think I've stayed at a pretty WDW resort, I see pics of another one and find it just as beautiful!! What a nice walk the two of you must have had!! Looking forward to more! Jen

Thank you! I think I could be happy staying at any of the Disney resorts -- they are all so wonderful!!! :goodvibes

So...have you started thinking about where you want to stay next trip???

That sounds like a wonderful morning!

It was -- and then we got to go to World Showcase!

Jackie, your tr is really great. And I'm amazed at how you remembered the little details. I know you made journals. Did you and the kids use them? I'm thinking of bringing a journal, but want to make sure I actually write in it.

Chelsea and I used ours -- Connor -- not so much.

I didn't write nearly as consistently as I had planned, but when we got back I wrote and wrote and wrote in my journal so that I wouldn't forget anything. I am so glad that I did, because now, over a month later, I am a little fuzzy about certain things.

This last one is my fav. When I next get the chance to stay at a Moderate (LapuLapu Fest 2009, perhaps???) I think this may be the first I try.

Thank you! It is my favorite one, too. As we rounded the hallway from our room that was our view each morning. I would let out a sigh of pure contentment when I saw it.

We stayed at Riverside last year, and DH would love to try to French Quarter. After your photos, I may be convinced.

Can't wait for the next installment.

It really is such a lovely resort -- definitely worth trying.

I guess that's why I live in Georgia as opposed to Montana.

Hey now! :p
Us Montanans resemble that remark!
Just because Montana is... ummm.. well... Ok, yeah, really cold most of the time... gets a lot of snow... has horrid wildfires all summer... why do I live here again??

Montana has 4 distinct seasons. Almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction. :sad2:

See, I suspected it was cold there! ;)

I would love to visit Montana sometime -- I read The Horse Whisperer and The Loop years ago and have wanted to go to Big Sky country since then. However, I would so complain 10 months out of the year about being cold if I lived there, and who wants to listen to constant whining.

Plus, it is out of my self-imposed 500 mile radius from WDW. :rotfl:

I'll bring one and try to jot dot notes so I don't forget. I need the info for the tr!!

My guess is that Marrakesh will be a trip staple.

Can't wait to read today's update popcorn::

Montana is a great place to visit. If you ever get up this way, give me a shout and I will be glad to give you all sorts of "insider" Montana advice and show you around. I would never advise anyone to LIVE here though... besides the nasty weather, our economy is appalling.

I like your 500 mile radius from WDW rule... I think I need to impose that one on my family. DH would tell me I had lost my mind LOL... he just doesn't get it like we do. :sad2:

OK, smallish Montana hijack over now, back to your scheduled TR. ;)

Yes, you do need to take notes for your TR, because we ALL want to read about your trip!!!

I just realized that I had not fixed the photos for today's update yet, so I have been scrambling to do that!

One day I will get to all the places I want to visit! :goodvibes

My DH doesn't get it either, but he deals with it! Actually, I think he does get it and just isn't letting on! :rolleyes1
